Once you register the\ninterface, you\u2019ll get exclusive content and product support from\nTASCAM. Keep your Sweetwater invoice handy, as you\u2019ll need it\nduring the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li> Log in to your <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/tascamid.tascam.com\/en\/customer\/account\/login\/referer\/aHR0cHM6Ly90YXNjYW1pZC50YXNjYW0uY29tL2VuL2N1c3RvbWVyL2FjY291bnQvbG9nb3V0U3VjY2Vzcy8%2C\/\" target=\"_blank\">TASCAM account<\/a>. While you can use a TRS cable to connect to the Mixcast 4, an electrical short between the microphone and ground conductors is created, so one of the channels will essentially be muted. Because of this, we recommend either using a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/SC10Cbl--rode-sc10-trrs-to-trrs-cable\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">TRRS cable<\/a> or a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/SC4--rode-sc4-adapter-female-3.5mm-trs-to-angled-3.5mm-trrs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">TRS to TRRS adapter<\/a> for full functionality.&nbsp;  <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li> Connect your speakers to the LINE OUT jacks and headphones to the PHONES jacks. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Pair-devices-via-Bluetooth\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Pair devices via Bluetooth<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You\ncan pair a Bluetooth device to the Mixcast 4 to stream audio. Next, tap the <strong>Menu\n<\/strong>icon,\ntap the <strong>Device<\/strong>\nicon, and select the input channel to which you\u2019ve connected the\nmicrophone. All you need to do is insert a <a href=\"https:\/\/tascam.com\/downloads\/media_list\/TASCAM\/mixcst_4_tested_media_list.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">compatible SD card<\/a>, format it, then press the record button! If you have data already stored on your SD card, be sure to back it up, as formatting will erase everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#fff5c7\" class=\"has-background\"><strong>IMPORTANT:\n<\/strong>Be\nsure to format the SD card on the Mixcast 4. Not formatting on the\ndevice may result in errors and less-than-optimal performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>\nInsert\n\tthe SD card. Once inserted, a message will appear stating that a\n\tfile isn\u2019t found.&nbsp;\n\t<\/li><li>\nPress\n\t<strong>Yes<\/strong>\n\tto begin formatting. Once formatted, an SD card icon will appear at\n\tthe top right of the home screen.&nbsp;\n\t<ul><li>\nIf\n\t\tyou\u2019ve confirmed that you have a compatible SD card and it still\n\t\tisn\u2019t showing up, make sure that the write protection switch on\n\t\tthe side of the card is in the unlocked position.\n\t<\/li><\/ul>\n\t<\/li><li>\nPress\n\tthe <strong>Record\n\t<\/strong>button\n\tto begin recording and press the <strong>Stop\n\t<\/strong>button.\n\t<ul><li>\nWhen\n\t\tyou press <strong>Stop<\/strong>,\n\t\tyou will be asked whether or not you want to stop the recording.\n\t\tThe recording will continue until you press <strong>Yes<\/strong>.\n\t<\/li><\/ul>\n\t<\/li><li>\nOnce\n\tyou stop the recording, you will be prompted to rename the file.&nbsp;\n\t<ul><li>\nWe\n\t\trecommend using a standard naming convention, such as podcast title\n\t\t&#8211; episode name (or number) &#8211; date (e.g., My Podcast &#8211; Episode 1 &#8211;\n\t\t10\/19\/21), to identify files quickly in the future.&nbsp;\n\t<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"TASCAM-Podcast-Editor\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">TASCAM Podcast Editor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nTASCAM Podcast Editor is like a DAW in that you can record, edit,\nimport, and export audio directly on your computer. You can even\nimport projects you recorded on the Mixcast 4, so you can edit the\naudio. Here are the steps to get you started, but be sure to check\nout TASCAM\u2019s Podcast Editor video below for an in-depth look on how\nto use it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li> Go to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/tascam.com\/us\/product\/mixcast_4\/download\" target=\"_blank\">Mixcast 4 download page<\/a>, scroll down to the Software section, and click the Podcast Editor for your OS to begin the download. <ul><li><strong>Windows users: <\/strong>You will also need to install TASCAM\u2019s ASIO driver for your Mixcast 4 to work correctly with your computer. The download is listed right below the Software section. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Navigate to your <em>Downloads <\/em>folder, then extract and launch the Podcast Editor installer.&nbsp; <\/li><li> Connect the Mixcast 4 to your computer and launch the software. When prompted, enter your TASCAM account credentials. <\/li><li> Click <strong>New Project<\/strong>, enter the project name, choose the project location, then click <strong>Create<\/strong>. <ul><li>If you\u2019re importing a project from your Mixcast 4, click <strong>Read from Mixcast<\/strong>, then select all of the files you wish to import. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li> Click the <strong>Menu <\/strong>icon at the top left of the software, click <strong>Audio Interface<\/strong>, and make sure that the Mixcast 4 is both the input and output device.&nbsp; <\/li><li> Click <strong>Input <\/strong>on the track to assign the channel to a specific input. <\/li><li> Click the <strong>Rec <\/strong>button next to each track you plan on recording. This will record arm the track(s). <\/li><li> Next, press the <strong>Record <\/strong>button at the top of the software to begin recording.
