Follow the sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><a href=\"#Register-the-interface-with-Focusrite\"><strong>Register the interface with Focusrite<\/strong><\/a><ul><li><a href=\"#Download-and-install-RedNet-Control\"><strong>Download and install RedNet Control<\/strong><\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Setup-and-connections\">Setup and connections<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Register-the-interface-with-Focusrite\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Register the interface with Focusrite<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you can start recording with your new interface, there are a few steps you need to take. You\u2019ll need to register the unit, which allows you to get free plug-ins, download the appropriate drivers, and update the firmware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Focusrite Clarett interfaces include free bundled software and plug-ins. To get licenses for the software, you must register your interface on the Focusrite website using the included bundle code and serial number. Once registered, you\u2019ll get access to the registration codes and download links. Follow the steps below to register your Clarett.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Log into your <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/customer.focusrite.com\/register\" target=\"_blank\">Focusrite account<\/a>. If you haven\u2019t created an account yet, make one <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/customer.focusrite.com\/register\/signup\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/li><li>On your account home page, click <strong>Register A New Product<\/strong> and select your Red Line interface.<\/li><li>Fill out the information, including the <em>bundle code<\/em> and<em> serial number<\/em> located on the card that came with your interface, then click <strong>Submit<\/strong>. The serial number is also listed on the bottom of the device.<\/li><li>Once registered, click <strong>My Software<\/strong> on the top of the Focusrite page to download and register the bundled software.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Download-and-install-RedNet-Control\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Download and install RedNet Control<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve registered your interface with Focusrite, you\u2019ll need to download and install RedNet Control for your OS. If you are using the Focusrite unit with a Mac,  you must install the Thunderbolt driver, as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow these steps to download and install RedNet Control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.focusrite.com\/rednet-control-24\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Focusrite Pro download page<\/a>, and use the dropdown boxes to select your interface.<\/li><li>Choose <strong>Software <\/strong>in the final dropdown, then download RedNet Control for your OS.<ul><li>If you\u2019re a Mac user running 10.14, please download the Thunderbolt driver, as well.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Go to your <em>Downloads <\/em>folder and run the installer:<ul><li><strong>Windows (PC<\/strong>): Double-click the .<strong>exe<\/strong> file to begin the installation process.<\/li><li><strong>Mac<\/strong>: Double-click the .<strong>dmg<\/strong> file, then double-click the .<strong>pkg<\/strong> to start the installation process.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation, then reboot the computer once completed.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3>Installing the Thunderbolt driver on macOS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a Mac with Apple silicon, there is an additional configuration step that you must perform. If you\u2019re a Mac user, you can either have a Thunderbolt 3 port or use a Thunderbolt 1\/2 port and an official <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/TB3-TB2--apple-thunderbolt-3-usb-c-to-thunderbolt-2-adapter\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Apple Thunderbolt 3 adapter<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once everything is downloaded and installed, it\u2019s time to get set up and connected! Since most of the work will happen within your DAW and RedNet Control software, hardware setup is a breeze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Connect your gear to the interface, connect the interface to your computer, then turn on everything.&nbsp;<ul><li>You can use either Thunderbolt port when connecting to your computer. The second Thunderbolt port is for daisy-chaining purposes.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>While playing at performance level, press and hold that channel\u2019s <strong>Select <\/strong>button, then update all of the settings:&nbsp;<ul><li><strong>Type <\/strong><em>(Mic, Line, Instrument)<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Operating level<\/strong> <em>(Red 8Line and 16Line interfaces only)<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Phantom power<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Phase<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>HPF&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Air <\/strong><em>(Preamp transformer)<\/em>&nbsp;<ul><li>When changing the input level signal or engaging or disengaging the AIR preamps, you\u2019ll hear a clicking sound from the interface. Don\u2019t worry! That\u2019s just the internal circuitry switching over.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Link <\/strong><em>(stereo pair)<\/em><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Turn the gain up to a point where you begin to clip.
