IMPORTANT<\/strong>: Any custom kit data and kits you created before installing the TD-50X upgrade will not be able to be loaded back onto the TD-50. Before moving forward, visit our guide<\/a><\/strong> before moving forward for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this guide, we will show you how to activate, download, and install the Roland TD-50X onto your TD-50 module! Follow the instructions below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Check the TD-50 firmware version<\/a><\/strong><\/li>
  2. Create a Roland Cloud account<\/a><\/strong><\/li>
  3. Activate and download the upgrade<\/a><\/strong><\/li>
  4. Format, back up, and factory reset<\/a><\/strong><\/li>
  5. Install the upgrade<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Check the TD-50 firmware version<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Before you perform the upgrade, you first need to check what firmware version your module is running on. If you don’t have the latest version running, you must update before <\/strong>installing the upgrade. Press the Setup <\/strong>button and navigate to Info<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If the module is running version 1.09, you can continue below<\/a><\/strong>. If you\u2019re running on firmware below 1.09, update it now. Check out Roland\u2019s TD-50 download page<\/a> to download the TD-50 firmware and for instructions on how to perform a firmware update on your module. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Create a Roland Cloud account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The first step in the activation process is to create a Roland Cloud account. Once created, you\u2019ll download Roland Cloud, where you\u2019ll access the downloads for your TD-50 update. Follow the sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Log in to your Roland account<\/a>. If you don\u2019t have one, you can create one here<\/a>.<\/li>
    2. Once logged in, click the blue Roland Cloud Manager<\/strong> button.<\/li>
    3. On the next page, click Downloads<\/strong>, then choose click Download <\/strong>for the OS you\u2019ll use.<\/li>
    4. Navigate to your Downloads <\/em>folder and launch the installer.
