Doing so will extend the Zoom manufacturer\u2019s warranty by one year. You\u2019ll need the serial number handy, which should be located at the bottom of the unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Go to the Zoom <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/zoomcorp.com\/en\/us\/registration\/\" target=\"_blank\">product registration page<\/a>.<\/li><li>Fill out the required information, including the serial number, located on the bottom of your pedal, and then click <strong>Submit<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Update-the-firmware\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Update the firmware<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#ffe46e\" class=\"has-background\"><strong>IMPORTANT<\/strong>: You must launch the Firmware Updater software with Administrator privileges and, any audio or MIDI devices connected to your computer via USB must be disconnected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before performing an update, check which firmware version you\u2019re currently on and compare it to the latest listed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/zoomcorp.com\/en\/us\/multi-effects\/guitar-effects\/g1-four-g1x-four\/g1g1x-four\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Zoom G1 FOUR download page<\/a>. If the installed firmware version is the same as the one listed on the download page, skip this section and continue to <strong><a href=\"#Setup-and-connections\">Setup and connections<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press and hold the <strong>RHYTHM <\/strong>button while turning on the G1 FOUR. Here are a few tips about setting up and connecting your G1 FOUR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Turn down your guitar amp volume <strong>before <\/strong>connecting G1 FOUR and keep the pedal disconnected from the amp.<\/li><li>If you\u2019re using batteries, connecting your guitar will turn the pedal on.<\/li><li>Connect external devices like a tablet or other mobile device to the <strong>AUX IN <\/strong>and play along with your favorite songs!<\/li><li>Once the guitar is connected, you can then plug your headphones or guitar amp into the <strong>OUTPUT<\/strong> jack.<\/li><li>After everything is connected, play your guitar while raising your guitar amp volume until you find a reasonable level.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Adjust-the-expression-pedal-sensitivity-and-torque-G1-FOUR-X-users-only\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Adjust the expression pedal sensitivity and torque (G1 FOUR X users only)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can adjust the sensitivity and torque of the expression pedal to suit your needs. Follow the instructions below to adjust both settings. If you&#8217;re a G1 FOUR owner, skip this section and skip to <strong><a href=\"#Working-with-the-pedal\">Working with the pedal<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Sensitivity\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Sensitivity<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Adjusting the pedal sensitivity is something that may have to be performed if the pedal has little effect, too much effect even with the lightest touch, and also if you receive an error on the display.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Hold the <strong>Setting <\/strong>button while powering on the pedal.<\/li><li>Follow the display instructions, using the two footswitches to switch between options.<\/li><li>After it has been completed, power cycle the pedal.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Torque\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Torque<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#ffe46e\" class=\"has-background\"><strong>IMPORTANT<\/strong>: Make minor adjustments at a time. Also, take note that loosening or tightening the pedal too much can cause damage.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each guitar player is different, so you may find that the expression pedal feels too tight or loose. If this is the case, you can adjust the torque to accommodate your playstyle. All you have to do is insert a 5mm hex wrench into the adjustment screw located on the side of the pedal.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turn the screw <strong>clockwise <\/strong>to tighten the pedal and turn it <strong>counterclockwise <\/strong>to loosen the pedal.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Working-with-the-pedal\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Working with the pedal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The G1 FOUR series is a compact yet powerful pedal to have with your guitar rig. From live shows to practicing in the bedroom, it\u2019s perfect for any situation. There are plenty of features available, so we\u2019ll show you the basics of how to use them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Effects\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Effects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three different modes you can use on the pedal: <strong>Stomp<\/strong>, <strong>Memory<\/strong>, and <strong>Edit<\/strong>. Depending on the mode you\u2019ve selected will depend on how the buttons and footswitches operate.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Stomp-mode\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Stomp mode<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019re in Stomp mode, the <strong>right <\/strong>footswitch will scroll through the five effects currently loaded. Once you have a specific effect selected, you can then toggle it on and off using the <strong>left <\/strong>footswitch. You can also use the number button associated with the effect to toggle them on and off, as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Memory-mode\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Memory mode<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Memory mode is where you\u2019ll select banks and patches. The patches are saved within the banks. To switch banks, you\u2019ll press the number button associated with the effect. You can then use the two footswitches to change the patch within the selected bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Edit-mode\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Edit mode<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#ffe46e\" class=\"has-background\"><strong>IMPORTANT<\/strong>: If you receive a Process Overflow error, you\u2019ll need to change the effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lastly, there is Edit mode. This is where you can tweak the settings of your effects <em>(e.g., gain, boost, tone)<\/em>. To edit, you just need to press the number button associated with the effect and then use the four knobs to change the parameters. To change pedal categories, hold the <strong>left <\/strong>footswitch and press the <strong>right <\/strong>footswitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"How-to-change-the-pedal-order\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">How to change the pedal order<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You can change the order of the pedals on any patch selected. This is particularly useful if you\u2019re looking to dial in just the right tone. All you need to do is press the <strong>Setting <\/strong>button and then press the <strong>1 <\/strong>button. Playing back rhythms couldn\u2019t be easier! You just need to press the <strong>RHYTHM <\/strong>button, use the four knobs to adjust the parameters, then press the <strong>left <\/strong>footswitch to begin playback.\u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Looper\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Looper<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The looper is self-explanatory. You\u2019re able to record up to 30 seconds of audio, then loop playback or overdub your recording. You can even change patches and place it before (pre) or after (post) your effects while the loop is being played back! Press the <strong>right <\/strong>footswitch to stop.<\/li><li>Play back the phrase by pressing the <strong>left <\/strong>footswitch.
