Upon registration, you will\nreceive a free copy of Digital Performer Lite, over 6GB worth of free loops and\nsamples, as well as information about software updates and MOTU technical\nsupport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Log into your <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/motu.com\/en-us\/accounts\/login\/?next=\/en-us\/accounts\/registrations\/create\/\" target=\"_blank\">MOTU account<\/a>. If you don\u2019t have one, click the <strong>Create My Account <\/strong>button on the right side of the page, fill out the required information, then click <strong>Register<\/strong>.<ul><li>MOTU will send you an account verification email when you create an account. The installer file includes both the audio\ndriver, as well as the CueMix 5 standalone mixer application. The UltraLite-mk5 interfaces have a USB-C port for\nconnecting directly to your computer and operate on the USB 2.0 protocol for\nmaximum compatibility. Simply connect the MOTU to your computer and connect the\npower supply. The interface should automatically turn on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Turn the <strong>MAIN VOL <\/strong>knob all the way down, then connect your speakers.<\/li><li>Connect the USB cable from the interface to your computer and connect the power supply. The interface should automatically turn on at this point.<\/li><li>Navigate to your OS sound settings and set it as the default input and output device.<ul><li><strong>PC<\/strong>: Right-click the <strong>Speaker <\/strong>icon on the Windows taskbar, select <strong>Sounds<\/strong>, then click the <strong>Playback <\/strong>tab. Locate and select the interface,  click <strong>Set Default<\/strong>, then click <strong>OK <\/strong>to close the menu. Do the same in the <strong>Recording <\/strong>tab.<\/li><li><strong>Mac<\/strong>: Click the <strong>Apple <\/strong>icon from the Menu Bar and select <strong>System       Preferences<\/strong>. Click <strong>Sound<\/strong>, then select the UltraLite-mk5 under       the <em>Input <\/em>and <em>Output <\/em>tabs.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>If applicable, connect your headphones to the jack on the front.<\/li><li>Play some music or a video, and slowly turn the <strong>MAIN VOL<\/strong> knob up until it\u2019s at your desired listening level. CueMix 5 is a very powerful application, so in\nthis guide, we\u2019ll cover the basics, so be sure to check out MOTU\u2019s video below\nfor a deep dive on how to use it!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>In the <strong>Home <\/strong>tab, click the inputs<em> (1-8)<\/em> you want to monitor on the Main Outs or Headphones. For example, if you want to hear inputs 7 and 8 through your headphones, you would click <strong>7 <\/strong>and <strong>8 <\/strong>in the <em>Phones <\/em>section.<\/li><li>For further control of a specific channel, such as the level, click its <strong>MIX <\/strong>tab and make your adjustments.<\/li><li>Any EQ or dynamic effects changes are global and will be applied to every monitor mix.<\/li><li>Each <strong>MIX <\/strong>tab is independent of one another. This means Line 3-4 can have the Mic 1 and Mic 2 inputs muted, where Line 5-6 could have them soloed.<\/li><li>The <strong>Device <\/strong>tab is where you will change the sample rate, clock source, loopback sources, and more. You can also save monitoring presets and update the firmware in this window.<\/li><li>If you want to have the Main Out signal coming out of additional Line Out channels, click the <strong>Output<\/strong> tab and select its channel in the <em>Main Volume Group <\/em>section. This is especially useful in situations where you\u2019re using more than one set of monitors.<\/li><li>You can save your settings as a custom preset. Click the <strong>Device <\/strong>tab, then click <strong>Save<\/strong>.
