The number of features available is nearly endless, so that\u2019s why in this guide, we\u2019ll go over the basics of the PolyBrute to get you up and running. Once registered, you\u2019ll\ngain access to its firmware as well as to PolyBrute Connect, which is the\nsoftware you\u2019ll use to control and manage the PolyBrute on your computer \u2014 in\nyour DAW and also in standalone mode. You\u2019ll also update your PolyBrute\nfirmware using Connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arturia.com\/login#account\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Arturia account<\/a>. You can access the\nPolyBrute Connect download from Arturia\u2019s website, but we recommend using\nArturia Software Center, as you\u2019ll receive automatic updates for your software\nand\/or firmware. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Go to Arturia\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arturia.com\/support\/downloads&amp;manuals\">Download page<\/a> and download the latest Arturia Software Center (ASC) version for your OS.<\/li><li>Navigate to your Downloadsfolder, launch the installer, and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li><li>Launch ASC and enter your Arturia account credentials.<\/li><li>Locate the PolyBrute Connect download, then click <strong>Install <\/strong>to complete the process.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Update-the-firmware\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Update the firmware<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s great practice to update the firmware on your PolyBrute from time to time, particularly when you first take it out of the box. Firmware updates often add new features, update the internal software for compatibility, and address any bugs that may have been present in the current build. It\u2019s also a great step when troubleshooting any issues you might have. Be sure to check out Arturia\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arturia.com\/products\/hardware-synths\/polybrute\/update\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>firmware update FAQ<\/strong><\/a> page for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Navigate to the top right of the PolyBrute Connect page\nand click <strong>Upgrade to Latest<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Once the update is complete, it will automatically\nreboot.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"If-your-computer-doesn-t-have-an-internet-connection\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">If your computer doesn&#8217;t have an internet connection<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If, by any chance, your computer\nisn\u2019t connected to the internet, then you\u2019ll need to update it manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Connect an external storage device, such as a USB thumb drive, to a computer with an internet connection.<\/li><li>Navigate to the PolyBrute <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arturia.com\/products\/hardware-synths\/polybrute\/resources\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\"><strong>Resources<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>page, scroll all the way down, and download the latest firmware file. Unlike other polyphonic synths, you can create two separate parts (Part A and Part B) and morph them together in plenty of different ways. Let\u2019s make things simple for now and create an initialized preset with one patch (Part A).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#05629c;color:#ffffff\"><strong>TIP: <\/strong>The signal flow of a preset is typically left (VCO) to\nright (Effects) unless otherwise routed within the matrix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"Before-we-begin-creating-a-patch\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh5 swheader\">Before we begin creating a patch<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The Arturia PolyBrute is a true analog synthesizer, which means the internal components need time to warm up to operating temperature. This typically takes 5\u201310 minutes, depending on the ambient temperature. A great feature is the option to either warm up specific sections of the PolyBrute or warm up the entire synth itself. For instructions on how to do this, check out <a href=\"http:\/\/downloads.arturia.net\/products\/polybrute\/manual\/polybrute_Manual_1_0_EN.pdf#page=16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\"><strong>page 10<\/strong><\/a> of the PolyBrute user manual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Turn on the PolyBrute and wait a few minutes for it to warm up.<\/li><li>Press and hold the <strong>LEFT<\/strong> arrow Panel button, then press the <strong>PRESETS<\/strong> button.<\/li><li>Alternatively, go to Settings, navigate to Preset Info, then select <strong>Init <\/strong>with the <strong>Assign 1<\/strong> button.<\/li><li>Adjust the knobs and faders to your liking, starting from VCO 1 and moving right, ending at the Effects section.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019re finished, name your preset and save it. Morphing allows you to blend two Parts in an almost endless number of ways to give a sense of never-ending motion and uniqueness to your sound! There are plenty of ways to morph, too, so follow these steps to get started with morphing.
