This will give you access to the AudioFuse Creative Suite, including Analog Lab Lite and various Arturia effects plugins. If you decide to power it via your computer, we recommend not to connect via a USB hub. That feature is reamping. Reamping is the process where you record a dry track, then re-record by sending the clean track through your amp and effects chain. This is particularly useful because you can capture just one performance, then play around with mic placement, effects, amps, and cabs without affecting the printed track. If you plan on doing this, you\u2019ll need to make sure that both sets of monitor speakers are at the same level. Using ADAT is useful in the studio when you run into a project and need more inputs than your AudioFuse has <em>(i.e., drums)<\/em>. It&#8217;s a matter of connecting the cable from the ADAT <strong><em>OUT<\/em><\/strong><em> <\/em>of the external device to the AudioFuse&#8217;s ADAT <strong><em>IN<\/em><\/strong>. Navigate to your OS sound settings and set it as the default input and output device.<ul><li><strong>PC<\/strong>: Right-click the <strong>Speaker <\/strong>icon on the Windows taskbar, select <strong>Sounds<\/strong>, then click the <strong>Playback <\/strong>tab. Locate and select the interface, click S<strong>et Default<\/strong>, then click <strong>OK <\/strong>to close the menu. Do the same in the <em>Recording <\/em>tab.<\/li><li><strong>Mac<\/strong>: Click the <strong>Apple <\/strong>icon from the Menu Bar and select <strong>System Preferences<\/strong>. Click <strong>Sound<\/strong>, then select the AudioFuse interface under both the <em>Input <\/em>and <em>Output <\/em>tabs.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>If applicable, connect your headphones to the jack on the front.<\/li><li>Play some music or a video, and slowly turn the <em>Output <\/em>(and <em>Phones<\/em>) knob up until it\u2019s at a comfortable listening level.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Launch your DAW, select your interface as the primary playback and recording device.<\/li><li>Create an audio track, begin playing, and adjust the input level to a point where it\u2019s not clipping and you have enough <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/insync\/need-know-headroom\/\">headroom<\/a>.<ul><li>Use the <em>Direct\/Computer <\/em>knob to adjust to balance out what you hear more of. The more the knob is turned towards <em>Direct<\/em>, the more you\u2019ll hear a dry signal.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"What-do-the-USB-ports-on-the-back-do\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">What do the USB ports on the back do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing that sets it apart from the rest, the AudioFuse has a 3-port USB hub built into it. Two of the ports <em>(labeled <\/em><strong><em>1A<\/em><\/strong><em>)<\/em> are great for rapidly charging any USB device, like a tablet or smartphone. The port labeled <strong><em>120mA<\/em><\/strong><em> <\/em>is great for lower-powered devices like a USB dongle or memory stick, like an <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/iLok3--pace-ilok-3rd-generation\" target=\"_blank\">iLok<\/a> or <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/SteinbergKey--steinberg-usb-elicenser-software-authorization-key\" target=\"_blank\">eLicenser<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0;color:#000000\" class=\"has-text-color has-background\"> Arturia recommends <strong><em>only <\/em><\/strong>connecting lower-powered devices to the 120mA port, as ones that demand a higher power requirement might trip their \u201covercurrent protection\u201d mechanism, which temporarily disables the 120mA port.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Is-your-AudioFuse-not-showing-up\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Is your AudioFuse not showing up?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the interface isn\u2019t showing up when connecting it to your computer, reconnect the interface by unplugging and plugging it back in. If you have not done so yet, try reconfiguring the USB connections so that the Arturia interface is connected directly to your computer. If the problem persists, try a different USB port or cable.
