Like other pedals, you need to connect your guitar to the <strong>MONO <\/strong>input and then use an instrument cable to connect from the Plethora\u2019s <strong>MONO<\/strong> out<strong> <\/strong>to the guitar amp\u2019s input. If you\u2019re using a keyboard or other stereo instrument, use TRS cables and connect via the <strong>STEREO <\/strong>ins and outs. If you plan on using external effects, use the <em>Insert <\/em>send and return jacks to create an FX loop. Once everything is connected the way you need it, it\u2019s time to play around with the pedal!<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Create-a-custom-board\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Create a custom board<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All presets on the Plethora X5 are called <em>boards<\/em>, which is where you\u2019ll add your effects. While there are tons of great factory presets, you can build new ones from scratch as well! One cool thing about the Plethora X5 is that it automatically saves the settings as you go, so there is no need to dive into finding the save feature or worry about accidentally changing presets. Follow these steps to create a new custom board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f3f2f1\"><strong>TIP: <\/strong>You can swap effects by pressing and holding both effects at the same time. For example, if you had a compressor on slot 1 and wanted to swap that with a chorus effect on slot 3, press and hold both the <strong>1 <\/strong>and <strong>3 <\/strong>pedals to switch positions automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Flip the <em>PLAY\/EDIT <\/em>switch to <strong>EDIT, <\/strong>then flip the <em>BOARD <\/em>switch <strong>up<\/strong>.<ul><li>Create a new board by flipping the <em>PLAY\/EDIT <\/em>switch to <strong>PLAY<\/strong> or using the right encoder, then choose <strong>Create<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Flip the <em>PLAY\/EDIT <\/em>switch to <strong>EDIT<\/strong>, then use the <em>EFFECT <\/em>encoder to select the type of effect you wish to apply.<\/li><li>Once you\u2019ve fine-tuned that pedal, press the next pedal to choose your next effect.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Why-are-some-effects-grayed-out\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Why are some effects grayed out?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re trying to add effects and notice some are grayed out, that means that the board has run out of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/insync\/dsp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">DSP<\/a>, so those effects cannot be added. The jack icons indicate the FX loop location at the bottom of each effect. Your TonePrint app will also let you know when it\u2019s time to update the firmware on your Plethora.
