If you register the device within the first 90 days of purchase, Korg will extend your warranty for an extra year, and you will also receive free bundled software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Go to the Korg <a href=\"https:\/\/www.korgusa.com\/productregistration\/korg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">product registration page<\/a> and create or log in to your Korg account.<\/li><li>On your account page, click <strong>Register A Product<\/strong>, fill out the required information, then click <strong>Save<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Keep your Sweetwater invoice handy, as you\u2019ll need to enter the purchase date.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Register-the-software-bundle\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Register the software bundle<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you purchase the Korg wavestate, you\u2019ll receive licenses for virtual instruments, effects plug-ins, Reason Studio\u2019s Reason Lite, and free keyboard lessons. All you need to do is go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.korg-license-center.com\/index.php?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Korg License Center page<\/a>, enter the bundle code number on the card included in the box, and then click <strong>Submit<\/strong>. There are two things about the opsix you need to learn: operators and algorithms. Let\u2019s go over these fundamentals of the opsix. For a deep dive on the opsix, check out the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/cdn.korg.com\/us\/support\/download\/files\/da6fb034f8c97435cdef615b956f3a06.pdf?response-content-disposition=inline%3Bfilename%2A%3DUTF-8%27%27opsix_OM_E1.pdf&amp;response-content-type=application%2Fpdf%3B\" target=\"_blank\">opsix manual<\/a> for a deep dive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Operators\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Operators<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>Operators <\/em>are comprised of two elements: modulators <em>(blue)<\/em> and carriers <em>(red)<\/em>. Depending on the algorithm that&#8217;s currently selected, the six <em>Operators<\/em> will react differently.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#05629c\" class=\"has-text-color has-background has-very-light-gray-color\"><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>If all of the red carrier Operator faders are down and the blue modulator faders are up, you won&#8217;t get any sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Red Operator (carriers):<\/strong> The encoder will control the pitch, and the fader will control the volume.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Blue Operator (modulators)<\/strong>: the encoder will control the carrier&#8217;s modulation <em>(tone)<\/em> it&#8217;s linked to, and the fader will control the amount of modulation.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Purpler Operator: <\/strong>If you&#8217;re using a user algorithm, the Operator will act as both. Different algorithms will result in entirely different sounds. Modulator Operators <em>(blue)<\/em> don\u2019t produce sound and are linked to carrier Operators <em>(red)<\/em>. The carrier Operators output the modulated audio signal.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Think of a modulator Operator like a MIDI keyboard. They send a signal that controls something but won\u2019t produce sound. You can even import presets from a Yamaha DX7! While they won\u2019t sound exactly the same, it\u2019ll give you a chance to create a more modern sound with a classic synth. Let\u2019s create a patch from scratch, but feel free to play around with some factory presets and navigate through the menus and check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kraftmusic.com\/media\/ownersmanual\/Korg_OpSix_Owners_Manual.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">opsix manual<\/a> to better understand how the opsix works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Use the <strong>Program<\/strong> encoder to navigate to an empty preset. You can also hold <strong>SHIFT + INITIALIZE<\/strong> to clear the current preset and start from scratch.<ul><li>All Operators will be <em>carriers <\/em>on a blank preset.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Turn the <strong>A <\/strong>encoder located in the <em>Data Entry <\/em>section to change the algorithm.<\/li><li>Use the <strong>+ <\/strong>and <strong>&#8211; OP SELECT <\/strong>buttons to select an operator to edit and then use the six <strong>DATA ENTRY <\/strong>encoders to edit the parameters.<\/li><li>Use the <strong>OPERATOR <\/strong>and <strong>PROCESSOR <\/strong>buttons to edit the patch even further.<ul><li>Check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kraftmusic.com\/media\/ownersmanual\/Korg_OpSix_Owners_Manual.pdf#page=34\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Owner\u2019s Manual<\/a> for a full list and details on each parameter available on the Korg opsix.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Saving-programs\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Saving programs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#ffe46e\" class=\"has-background\"><strong>IMPORTANT: <\/strong>Do not turn the opsix off while it\u2019s saving a program. Doing so may corrupt internal data or potentially brick the unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve found that perfect sound, you\u2019ll want to name and save it to one of the blank user slots. It\u2019s straightforward, so follow these steps to save a program on your opsix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press<strong> <\/strong>the <strong>Write<\/strong> button, then update the name.<ul><li><strong>Program <\/strong>encoder: Changes the character at the current cursor position.<\/li><li><strong>SHIFT <\/strong>encoder: Changes the character type.<\/li><li><strong>PAGE &lt;<\/strong> and <strong>&gt;<\/strong> buttons: Moves the cursor.
