To register the device with Zoom, you\u2019ll need the serial number of the recorder, which is located on the back. Follow these steps to format the Zoom PodTrak P4 SD card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\u201dpadding: 10px;\u201d>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Insert the SD card and power on the P4.&nbsp;<ul><li>It is not recommended to insert the SD card while the unit is turned on, resulting in data loss.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Press the&nbsp;<strong>Menu<\/strong>&nbsp;button, use the&nbsp;<strong>Play\/Pause&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>Stop&nbsp;<\/strong>buttons to navigate to&nbsp;<em>Settings,&nbsp;<\/em>then press the&nbsp;<strong>Record&nbsp;<\/strong>button.<\/li><li>Use the&nbsp;<strong>Play\/Pause&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>Stop&nbsp;<\/strong>buttons to scroll to&nbsp;<em>SD Card<\/em>&nbsp;and then press&nbsp;<strong>Enter<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Format<\/strong>&nbsp;and then select&nbsp;<strong>Execute<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Testing-SD-cards\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Testing SD cards<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your Zoom PodTrak P4 doesn\u2019t recognize the SD card or continue to receive errors, please ensure that the SD card is compatible with the device. An excellent way to see if it will work is to test the SD card using the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/zoomcorp.com\/media\/documents\/E_P4_gyZbKRz.pdf#page=48\">Test feature<\/a>. Zoom recommends the following&nbsp;<strong>Class 10<\/strong>&nbsp;SD cards for recording:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>4 GB \u2013 32 GB&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/insync\/sdhc-card\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SDHC<\/a><\/li><li>64 GB \u2013 512 GB SDXC<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Card-protected-error\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Card protected error<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> If you insert the SD card into the Zoom PodTrak P4 and see a <em>Card protected <\/em>message on the display, take the card out of the P4 and check the security tab on the SD card. Simply connect your microphones and headphones, then start recording. What separates the P4 from the rest is connecting smartphones, tablets, computers, and other devices. The PodTrak P4 does most of the work for you, so follow these steps to get connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Smartphone\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Smartphone<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\u201dpadding: 10px;\u201d>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Flip the switch on&nbsp;<strong>Channel 3<\/strong>&nbsp;to the phone icon.<\/li><li>Connect your smartphone using a&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/insync\/trrs\/\">TRRS cable<\/a>&nbsp;to the jack closest to the&nbsp;<strong>Power<\/strong>&nbsp;button located on the side of the unit.<\/li><li>Launch the software you\u2019ll be using&nbsp;<em>(i.e., Skype, Zoom)&nbsp;<\/em>and press&nbsp;<strong>Record<\/strong>.<ul><li>The person calling in will be recorded to&nbsp;<em>Track 3<\/em>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Connecting-your-smartphone-via-Bluetooth\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Connecting your smartphone via Bluetooth<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can connect your smartphone to the PodTrak P4 via Bluetooth using the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/ZoomBTA2--zoom-bta-2-podtrak-series-bluetooth-adapter\">Zoom BTA-2<\/a>. If you do have the BTA-2, connect it to the TRRS ports on the right side of the unit, then press and hold the button on the side of the BTA-2 until it flashes white. Next, go to your smartphone\u2019s Bluetooth settings, and connect to the BTA-2. After it has been paired successfully, follow the steps above to complete the connection process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Computer-tablet-smartphone-via-USB\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Computer, tablet, smartphone via USB<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PodTrak P4 can be used as an audio interface, as well. It\u2019s class-compliant on computers, so no additional driver software is necessary, making it a true plug and play device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<ol><li>Flip the switch on&nbsp;<strong>Channel 4&nbsp;<\/strong>to the USB icon.<\/li><li>Use a&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/search.php?sb=score&amp;s=usb+c+cable&amp;params=eyJmYWNldCI6eyJDYXRlZ29yeSI6WyI1XC80NCJdfX0&amp;category-redirect=1\">USB-C cable<\/a>&nbsp;to connect the P4 to your device.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Press the&nbsp;<strong>Menu&nbsp;<\/strong>button, navigate to&nbsp;<em>Settings<\/em>, then press the&nbsp;<strong>Record&nbsp;<\/strong>button&nbsp;<em>(Enter)<\/em>.<\/li><li>Select&nbsp;<strong>USB Mix Minus<\/strong>, press the&nbsp;<strong>Record<\/strong>&nbsp;button, then select&nbsp;<strong>On<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Launch the software you\u2019ll be using&nbsp;<em>(i.e., Skype, Zoom)&nbsp;<\/em>and press&nbsp;<strong>Record<\/strong>.<ul><li>The person calling in will be recorded to&nbsp;<em>Track 4<\/em>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"What-is-Mix-Minus-mode\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">What is Mix Minus mode?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Mix Minus mode is disabled, the caller will be able to hear the entire mix, including themselves. That means they\u2019ll hear an echo and will cause feedback.
