Upon registration, you\u2019ll receive a code for a free copy of Ableton Live Lite, the DrumBrute manual, and download links for the Arturia MIDI Control Center application. So be sure to press the <strong>Save <\/strong>button once you&#8217;ve completed your pattern.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Creating beats using the Arturia DrumBrute is very simple. You can make up to 64 patterns, and each pattern can have up to 64 steps. These steps can be entered in three different ways: enter steps manually, record in real-time, or use the <strong>Roller\/Step Repeater<\/strong><em> <\/em>touchpad <em>(located underneath the <\/em><strong><em>Master Volume <\/em><\/strong><em>knob)<\/em>. All three methods are simple, so follow these steps to create a pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Set the tempo of your pattern using the <strong>Tempo <\/strong>knob. By holding the <strong>Shift<\/strong> button while turning the <strong>Tempo<\/strong> knob, you can fine-tune the tempo even further.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Enter-the-steps-manually\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Enter the steps manually<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manually entering steps is the best if you\u2019re going for a straightforward beat or if you need to edit a specific instrument\u2019s pattern without having to re-record. This is particularly useful for extended patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\u201dpadding: 10px;\u201d>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press the instrument pad you want to trigger.<\/li><li>Press one of the 16 <strong>Step <\/strong>pads above to add them to your pattern. Press the Step pad again to remove it.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Record-in-real-time\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Record in real time<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 12 instrument pads are velocity-sensitive, so recording patterns in real-time are great if you want a more dynamic pattern. The recorded instrument will be quantized to the closest step, so if it sounds a little off, press that step to erase it, then press the <em>Step <\/em>pad you wanted to trigger.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\u201dpadding: 10px;\u201d>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press the <strong>Record <\/strong>pad to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/insync\/record-enable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">record enable<\/a> the pattern, then press the <strong>Play\/Pause <\/strong>pad to begin recording.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Enter the beat using the instrument pad you want to trigger.<\/li><li>Once you\u2019re finished, press the <strong>Stop <\/strong>pad.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Use-the-Roller-Step-Repeater\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Use the Roller\/Step Repeater<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Roller\/Step Repeater touchpad is easily the best way to record repetitive instruments, hi-hats being the most common. You can get creative with this because you can change the value while recording in real-time. This is perfect for intricate hi-hat patterns, often heard in trap music and other electronic genres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\u201dpadding: 10px;\u201d>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press the <strong>Record <\/strong>pad to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/insync\/record-enable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">record enable<\/a> the pattern, then press the <strong>Play\/Pause <\/strong>pad to begin recording.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Press and hold both the instrument and note value you want to record.<ul><li>Slide your finger back and forth on the <em>Roller\/Step Repeater<\/em> pad to change note values in real time.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Once you\u2019re finished, press the <strong>Stop <\/strong>pad.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Transfer-DrumBrute-patterns-to-MIDI-Control-Center\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Transfer DrumBrute patterns to MIDI Control Center<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can transfer and edit any DrumBrute sequence you recorded using the MIDI Control Center. For the DrumBrute to control your external gear via analog clock, you will need to connect a 3.5mm TRS cable from the Clock OUT jack on the DrumBrute to the Clock IN of the other synthesizer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-light-gray-color has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#05629c\"><strong>TIP: <\/strong>\u215b-inch TS cables will only send a clock pulse. \u215b-inch TRS cables will send both clock pulse and start\/stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can synchronize gear such as sequencers and synths with the DrumBrute. The 3.5mm TRS Sync jacks can be used to connect to external synths via analog clock. Another option is using the 5-pin MIDI jacks, which can connect not only to external synths but to a MIDI interface for DAW synchronization, as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, connect the cable from the Clock OUT jack on the external synth to the Clock IN of the DrumBrute if you want the external synth to be the master.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"DrumBrute-sync-modes\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">DrumBrute sync modes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on your setup, you may need to change the <em>Sync<\/em> mode. This can be done by pressing the <strong>Sync <\/strong>button.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\u201dpadding: 10px;\u201d>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>INT<\/strong>: The DrumBrute is the <strong>MAIN <\/strong>source through USB, MIDI &amp; Sync out.<\/li><li><strong>USB<\/strong>: The DrumBrute is <strong>RECEIVING <\/strong>the clock being sent from MIDI-USB.<\/li><li><strong>MIDI<\/strong>: The DrumBrute is receiving the clock being sent via MIDI-Din.<\/li><li><strong>CLOCK<\/strong>: Allows you to set the clock source from analog clock connections.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"How-to-change-PPQN-on-the-DrumBrute\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">How to change PPQN on the DrumBrute<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re connected via the Clock IN\/OUT of the DrumBrute, you\u2019ll need to use MIDI Control Center to change PPQN. The most common synth setting is 24 PPQN, but you can change it to <strong>1step <\/strong><em>(one pulse per step)<\/em>, <strong>2PPQ <\/strong><em>(Standard for Korg Volca devices)<\/em>, <strong>24PPQ<\/strong>, and <strong>48PPQ<\/strong>. If you aren\u2019t sure of the PPQ sync for your external device, please consult its Owner\u2019s Manual for more information.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"DrumBrute-individual-outs\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">DrumBrute individual outs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One nifty feature of the DrumBrute is having individual outputs for each instrument. Even the metronome has one! Using these is particularly useful if you want to connect it to a mixer or an interface.
