How to format an SD card on a TASCAM DR-40X<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This guide will show you the procedure on how to format an SD card on a TASCAM DR-40X. When formatting cards on the DR-40X, TASCAM recommends that it be connected to your computer via USB or powered by new batteries or the external TASCAM power supply<\/a>. Please follow the instructions below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IMPORTANT: <\/strong>Formatting the SD card will erase all stored data, so be sure that all of your files are backed up beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Press the MENU <\/strong>button, then use the + <\/strong>and – <\/strong>buttons to navigate to System<\/em>.<\/li>
  2. Use the + <\/strong>and – <\/strong>buttons, navigate to ERASE\/FORMAT<\/em>, then select QUICK<\/em> <\/strong>format or FULL<\/em> <\/strong>format:
    • QUICK erases all recorded files and recreates the Music and Utility folder.<\/em><\/li>
    • FULL will erase everything and will also check for any SD card errors in the process.\u00a0<\/em><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
    • Press ENTER<\/strong> to confirm you wish to perform the format, then press ENTER <\/strong>once more to begin the formatting process.<\/li>
    • You can cancel the DR-40X SD card formatting process at any time by pressing the HOME <\/strong>button.<\/li>
