When you register the AIR Hub, you\u2019ll get <a href=\"https:\/\/www.m-audio.com\/air-hub#title-description\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">plenty of free software<\/a> to get you up and running so you can start getting creative! You\u2019ll want to keep your Sweetwater invoice handy, as you\u2019ll need to enter some information from that. Follow these steps to register your device.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Sign in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.m-audio.com\/account\/signin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">M-Audio account<\/a>. The AIR Hub is class-compliant on Mac, so no additional drivers are necessary to operate it. Windows users will first need to download and install the M-Audio ASIO driver so it can work properly. If you\u2019re a Mac user, you can skip this section and continue <a href=\"#Connecting-your-gear-to-the-AIR-Hub\"><strong>Connecting your gear<\/strong> <strong>to the AIR Hub<\/strong><\/a>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Download-and-install-the-AIR-Hub-driver-Windows-users-only\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Download and install the AIR Hub driver (Windows users only)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before connecting your M-Audio AIR Hub to your Windows PC, you\u2019ll need to download and install the driver for it to communicate correctly with the computer. The M-Audio AIR Hub is unique because it\u2019s an output monitoring system and a powered USB hub. Setup is straightforward, but we highly recommend that you connect your AIR Hub directly to your computer, not to another hub, as you may run into connectivity issues.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Turn the <em>Monitor Level<\/em> knob down, then connect your speakers.<ul><li>Do the same with the headphones if you have them connected.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Connect the USB from the USB-C connector on the back to an available USB port on your computer.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Using-the-AIR-Hub-outside-of-a-DAW\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Using the AIR Hub outside of a DAW<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re only going to be using the AIR Hub as a hub for things like external hard drives and a playback device for your computer <em>(Not using it for recording)<\/em>. The setup is simple:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Once the AIR Hub is connected to your computer, select the AIR Hub as your primary output\/playback device within <strong>Audio MIDI setup <\/strong><strong><em>(Mac)<\/em><\/strong><strong> <\/strong>or <strong>Sound Settings <\/strong><strong><em>(Windows)<\/em><\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Start playing audio, then slowly turn the <em>Monitor Level<\/em> and <em>Headphone Level<\/em> knobs until they\u2019re at a comfortable listening level.<strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Using-the-AIR-Hub-while-using-a-DAW\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Using the AIR Hub while using a DAW<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use the AIR Hub as a monitor controller while inside your DAW, as well. The setup is similar, but you\u2019ll need to update the DAW settings so it can route the output signal through the AIR Hub.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Launch your DAW, then go to its audio I\/O settings.<\/li><li>Change the output so that it\u2019s set as the AIR Hub.<ul><li>If you have any MIDI devices such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/getting-started-with-midi-keyboards\/\">MIDI keyboards<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/daw-control-surface-getting-started-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"DAW controllers (opens in a new tab)\">DAW controllers<\/a> connected via the USB hub, you\u2019ll want to update those settings as well.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Not-getting-any-output\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh5 swheader\">Not getting any output?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re not getting output from the M-Audio AIR Hub outside of your DAW, double-check that it\u2019s set as the primary output.
