Once you register the SERIES interface, you\u2019ll get exclusive support and notifications for upgrades to your interface. Keep your Sweetwater invoice handy, as you\u2019ll need that during the registration process. All you need to do is go to the registration page, fill out the registration form, and then click <strong>Submit<\/strong>. The TASCAM SERIES interfaces use a standalone application for routing, updating, and adjusting various settings, so you first must download that before you connect the interface to your computer.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Download-and-install-the-Settings-Panel-software\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Download and install the Settings Panel software<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#fff5c7\" class=\"has-background\"><strong>IMPORTANT: <\/strong>Do not connect your interface before running the <em>Setting Panel <\/em>installer. If you do, please disconnect the interface, then rerun the installer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first step in the setup process is to download and install the TASCAM <em>Settings Panel<\/em> software for your <a href=\"https:\/\/tascam.com\/us\/product\/series_208i\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">208i<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/tascam.com\/us\/product\/series_102i\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">102i<\/a>. While both TASCAM SERIES interfaces use an external power supply, we recommend connecting it directly to your computer. USB hubs may not be able to transfer data fast enough, resulting in connectivity issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Turn the Volume knob down, then connect your speakers.<ul><li>If you have headphones connected, turn its volume knob down, as well.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Connect the USB cable from the interface to your computer, then power it on. The USB LED on the interface will light up.<\/li><li>Navigate to your OS sound settings and set it as the default input and output device.<ul><li><strong>PC<\/strong>: Right-click the <strong>Speaker <\/strong>icon on the Windows taskbar, select <strong>Sounds<\/strong>, then click the <strong>Playback <\/strong>tab. Locate and select the interface, click <strong>Set Default,<\/strong> then click <strong>OK <\/strong>to close the menu. Do the same in the <em>Recording <\/em>tab.<\/li><li><strong>Mac<\/strong>: Click the <strong>Apple <\/strong>icon from the Menu Bar and select <strong>System Preferences.<\/strong> Click <strong>Sound<\/strong>, then select the SERIES interface under both the <em>Input <\/em>and <em>Output <\/em>tabs.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>If applicable, connect your headphones to the jack on the front.<\/li><li>Play some music or a video, and slowly turn the <em>Monitor <\/em>(and headphone) knob up until it&#8217;s at your desired listening level.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Launch your DAW, select your SERIES interface as the primary playback and recording device.<\/li><li>Create an audio track, begin recording, and use the <em>Monitor Balance<\/em> knob to balance out what you hear.<ul><li>The more the knob is turned towards <em>Input<\/em>, the more you&#8217;ll hear yourself (and less of what&#8217;s being played back.)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Is-your-interface-not-showing-up\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Is your interface not showing up?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the interface isn\u2019t showing up when connecting it to your computer, reconnect the interface by unplugging and plugging it back in. If you have not done so yet, try reconfiguring the USB connections so that the TASCAM Series is connected directly to your computer. If the problem persists, try a different USB port or cable.
