Before you can start recording with your new Audient iD interface, you\u2019ll first want to register it with Audient. After registration, you\u2019ll get a free copy of Cubase LE and Retrologue 2, as well as free plug-ins, loops, and more! Follow these steps to register your interface.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n- Go to the Audient Creative Hub<\/a>, fill out your information, then click Sign Up<\/strong>.<\/li>
- Check for an email from Audient to verify your account. If it doesn\u2019t show up in your inbox, be sure to check your spam folder.<\/li>
- Click the software you wish to download, then click Register Product<\/strong>.<\/li>
- Select your audio interface, enter its serial number, then click Register<\/strong>.<\/li>
- After registration, you will be taken to a page that will provide you instructions on how to redeem your software.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\nDownload and install the drivers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Once the interface is registered, the next step is to download and install the drivers. All drivers, firmware, and the Audient ID Mixing app are included in one file, so no additional downloads are required.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n- Go to your interface\u2019s product page<\/a>, click Downloads<\/strong>, then select the driver installer for your OS.<\/li>
- Navigate to your Downloads <\/em>folder and run the installer. Once the download is complete, you will be prompted to reboot your system.
- Windows<\/strong>: Double-click the .exe <\/strong>file to begin the installation process.<\/li>
- macOS<\/strong>: Double-click the .dmg <\/strong>file then double click the .pkg <\/strong>to begin the installation process.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\nSetup and connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
NOTE: <\/strong>the Audient iD4 is bus-powered, meaning it receive power over the USB connection instead of a power adapter. Other Audient iD audio interface require the use of a power supply. Please refer to its Owner’s Manual for more information!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now that the driver is installed and your computer is rebooted, you can then connect it to your computer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
- Connect the interface to an available USB port on your computer. We recommend not using USB hubs as they may not be able to provide enough power for the best connectivity.<\/li>
- Once the interface is fully recognized, the green status LED will be lit green.<\/li>
- Launch the ID Mixing app. <\/li>
- If the firmware for your interface is out-of-date, you will receive a prompt. Select from audient.com<\/em>, and then click Next<\/strong>. Once the update is complete, reboot the interface.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
Update computer sound settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
After everything has been set up and connected, the last thing you’ll need to do is update your computer’s sound settings. For most apps that aren’t DAWs, this is done from Sound Settings<\/em> (Windows) or Sound Preferences<\/em> (Mac). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
DAWs like Pro Tools, Cubase, Studio One, etc. have their own sound settings for selecting an audio device. When using your interface with a DAW, make sure to choose your Audient interface from the Playback Engine<\/em> or Audio Settings<\/em> window within your DAW. Follow these steps to select the iD series interface as your computer’s audio playback device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Windows<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- Right-click the sound icon on the Windows taskbar, then select Open Sound Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>
- Use the dropdown boxes in the Input <\/em>and Output <\/em>sections to select the interface as the default input and output device.<\/li>
- While in the Sound Settings<\/em> menu, we highly recommend disabling Exclusive Mode to ensure the best performance possible. Check out our guide to learn how to disable Exclusive Mode<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
macOS<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- From the Menu Bar, click the Apple <\/strong>icon and select System Preferences<\/strong>.<\/li>
- Click Sound<\/strong>.<\/li>
- Under the Input and Output tabs, select your audio device.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
