Once an I\/O peripheral is connected, all you need to do is select and configure each channel\u2019s <strong>signal source<\/strong>. You can assign the alternate input source to a backup microphone, second guitar amp, or even W-Live or USB sound sources for a virtual soundcheck. You can even use the global Alternate Source feature to switch all enabled channels to their alternate source. This makes switching channels between their live and \u2018virtual\u2019 inputs fast and convenient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Assign a backup microphone <em>(just in case)<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Assign a second guitar amplifier for alternating back and forth.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Assign a computer\/USB\/W-Live source to perform virtual soundchecks from pre-recorded audio.<\/li><li>Use the global Alternative Source feature to switch all enabled channels to their alt source.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"WING-Channel-Processing\">WING Channel Processing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each WING channel has a dedicated Channel Strip for signal processing. Adjust the Channel Strip settings from either the Main Screen or Channel Processing section. Since the two are independent, you always have channel strip control available, regardless of what&#8217;s being done on the main screen. The control knobs are touch-sensitive and can also be used to alternate (tap) and adjust (turn) your parameters. Hold to turn the input on\/off.<\/li><li><strong>Filter:<\/strong> remove unusable high or low frequencies from your input source.<\/li><li><strong>Gate:<\/strong> automatically mute a signal when its level is below the adjustable threshold.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>EQ:<\/strong> adjust frequency levels.<ul><li>Touch the <strong>Band Solo<\/strong> icon to solo the selected frequency band in the monitor bus.<\/li><li>Touch the <strong>Freeze<\/strong> icon to stop the graphic equalizer meters.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Comp:<\/strong> automatically reduce and smooth out signal levels which surpass the adjustable threshold.<\/li><li><strong>Insert\/FX:<\/strong> send the channel\u2019s signal to and back from a built-in FX processor or external effect processing device.<ul><li>Touch the <strong>Dry Signal<\/strong> icon to adjust the FX level\u2019s mix with the dry signal.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Main:<\/strong> adjust the channel\u2019s output level and pan position within each Main mix bus.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Additional-channel-routing\">Additional channel routing<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Insert:<\/strong> the second insert point can be used for effects but is also configurable with the Auto-X and Auto-Y auto mixes.<\/li><li><strong>Bus Sends:<\/strong> adjust the channels send level and pan position to each mix bus.<ul><li>Touch the <strong>PRE TAP<\/strong> icon to select where the channel\u2019s bus send is tapped from.<\/li><li>Touch the <strong>PRE FDR EQ<\/strong> icon to access the channel\u2019s three-band equalizer for pre-fader sends.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Headphones,-Monitors,-and-Talkback\">Headphones, Monitors, and Talkback<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two stereo \u2018monitor\u2019 mixes on the wing: <strong>Monitor A<\/strong> and <strong>Monitor B<\/strong>. Monitor mixes are for listening to your stereo mix, individual channels, monitor mixes, or any soloed source signal. Monitor A is the default stereo stream routed to both the headphones and aux outputs. Each fader section has <em>Channel<\/em>, <em>Bus Master<\/em>, and <em>Main Matrix<\/em> layers for adjusting levels, and the <strong>SOF Flip<\/strong> feature lets you use faders to mix each bus. We\u2019ll show you how to do that further below, but let\u2019s start by adjusting bus send levels from the screen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>All Channels have independent send levels to each of the 4 \u2018Main\u2019 busses and 16 \u2018Bus\u2019 busses.<\/li><li>Only \u2018Main\u2019 and \u2018Bus\u2019 busses can be sent to a \u2018Matrix\u2019 bus (channels cannot be sent directly to a Matrix).<\/li><li>Main and Bus channels cannot be sent to other \u2018Main\u2019 or \u2018Bus\u2019 busses, but can be sent to a Matrix bus.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f1f3f4\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<ol><li>Press the <strong>Bus Master <\/strong>layers button to control the master level for each respective bus. Adjust the level to unity (0) and make sure it\u2019s not muted.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>Home<\/strong> button and to configure the bus:<ol><li>Press <strong>Customize<\/strong> to change the <em>name<\/em>, <em>icon<\/em> and <em>scribble light color<\/em>. The <strong>Sends On Fader<\/strong> feature lets you use channel faders to mix bus sends levels to a bus. This makes it easy to select a bus, press the <strong>SOF Flip<\/strong> button, and then create a mix on the <em>Left<\/em> fader section. Just make sure to disengage Sends On Fader by pressing the SOF Flip button again to return the Left layer faders where they were last set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-background\"><strong>IMPORTANT!<\/strong> If you select a <strong>Bus<\/strong> on any of the fader sections and engage the <strong>SOF Flip<\/strong> feature, only the <strong>Channel <\/strong>and<strong> Aux In<\/strong> layers will respond and control each channel\u2019s respective Bus send level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f1f3f4\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<ol><li>On the <strong>Center<\/strong> layer controls, press the <strong>Bus Master<\/strong> and then <strong>View<\/strong> buttons.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>Select <\/strong>button for your Bus channel to select it and set the Bus master fader level to unity (0).<\/li><li>Press the <strong>SOF Flip<\/strong> button to enable <em>sends on fader<\/em>. This makes the <strong>Left<\/strong> layer channel faders control their respective <em>bus send<\/em> level.<ul><li>Bus send levels are muted and turned all the way down by default.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Bus master levels are not muted but are turned all the way down by default.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Unmute each bus send you want to be sent to the bus and create a mix by adjusting each channel\u2019s Bus send fader level.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Press <strong>SOF Flip<\/strong> to return and use the bus channel\u2019s fader to control the bus level.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Create-a-Matrix-bus-mix-(Sends-on-Fader)\"><strong>Create a Matrix bus mix (Sends on Fader)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>Matrix<\/strong> is a type of a mix bus, but instead of mixing individual channels together, you can mix both \u2018Bus mixes\u2019 and \u2018Main mixes\u201d together. Matrixes are used to accommodate mixing and routing that would otherwise not be available on your typical analog mixer. While the WING\u2019s 4 Main busses and 16 \u2018Bus\u2019 busses provide a lot of flexibility, the additional Matrix busses make it possible to manage larger or more complex configurations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Create an alternate mix from \u2018Main\u2019 and \u2018Bus\u2019 mix busses.<\/li><li>Send to a live stream or video recorder<\/li><li>Route a unique or duplicate mix to a zone in your building<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-background\"><strong>IMPORTANT!<\/strong> If you select a <strong>Matrix<\/strong> on the Center or Right fader sections and engage the <strong>SOF Flip<\/strong> feature, only the <strong>Bus Master <\/strong>and<strong> Main<\/strong> layers will respond and control each bus\u2019 respective Matrix send level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-background\"><strong>IMPORTANT!<\/strong> When sending a \u2018Matrix\u2019 bus to speakers which are not in the same room or are farther away, you may need to increase the Matrix\u2019s delay time. Doing so will better align the \u2018Mains\u2019 acoustics with the room\/area\u2019s \u2018Matrix\u2019 mix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f1f3f4\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<ol><li>On the <strong>Right<\/strong> layer controls, press the <strong>Main Matrix<\/strong> and then <strong>View<\/strong> fader section buttons. Press the <strong>[4 &gt;]<\/strong> layer button to change the fader bank from Mains to Matrices.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>Select <\/strong>button for your Matrix channel to select it and set the Matrix master fader level to unity (0).<\/li><li>Press the <strong>SOF Flip<\/strong> button to enable <em>sends on fader<\/em>. This makes the <strong>Center <\/strong>and<strong> Left<\/strong> layer channel faders control their respective <em>Matrix send<\/em> level.<ul><li>Matrix send levels are muted and turned all the way down by default.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Matrix master levels are not muted but are turned all the way down by default.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Unmute each Matrix send you want to be sent to the bus and create a mix by adjusting each channel\u2019s Matrix send fader level.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Press <strong>SOF Flip<\/strong> to return and use the Matrix channel fader to control its master level.<\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"DCA-and-Mute-Groups\">DCA and Mute Groups<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wing has 8 DCA Groups for level control and 8 Mute Groups for mute control. <strong>DCAs<\/strong> (<em>Digitally Controlled Amplifiers<\/em>) allow a single fader to control multiple channels\u2019 output levels <em>(all at once and with the same level proportions)<\/em>. Channels are assigned to a DCA via <strong>Tags<\/strong>, which create the group and do the behind the scenes work. For example, a drum set would benefit from a DCA controlling the overall level. Create a mix from the individual drum channels and then tag them all to the same DCA. While each channel\u2019s physical faders will remain where they are, the DCA fader proportionally adjusts all tagged channels\u2019 levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mute Groups<\/strong> are also tags, but only control each channel\u2019s <em>Mute<\/em> status. Accessed from any Layer view, the <strong>Mute group<\/strong> icon displays each Mute Groups\u2019 settings and status. Mute Groups are useful for muting certain channels within the signal chain. Accessible from the Library, Snapshots are saved configurations that can be recalled to program the entire console or just certain sections, like source setups, layers, etc.. That makes it easy to save mix and stage monitor settings for each performance.
