After registration, you\u2019ll get a free copy of Studio One Artist, as well as the Studio Magic Plug-in Suite, which includes virtual instruments and effects plug-ins from leading software manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/my.presonus.com\/auth\/login?redirect_to=https:%2F%2Fmy.presonus.com%2Fzendesk_sso%2Flogin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">PreSonus account<\/a>. If you don\u2019t have an account yet, you can create one <a href=\"https:\/\/my.presonus.com\/auth\/create_user\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">here<\/a>.<\/li><li>On your account home page, click <strong>Register a product<\/strong>, then select <strong>Hardware <\/strong>in the drop-down box.<\/li><li>Enter the purchase date and serial number. All drivers are included in the installer, so there is only one file you\u2019ll need to download. While the ioStation is class-compliant on Mac, you will still need to install the app to perform firmware updates, and also update settings such as the buffer size <em>(block size)<\/em>, sample rate, and clock source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Click the <strong>Hardware <\/strong>tab in the <em>My Products <\/em>section of your account, click <strong>View More Details<\/strong>, then click <strong>Download Installer<\/strong>.<ul><li>If you need to download the app for a different OS, click <strong>View Other Systems<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Go to your <em>Downloads <\/em>folder and run the Universal Control installer.<ul><li><strong>Windows (PC) Users: <\/strong>Double-click the <strong>.exe <\/strong>file to begin the installation process.<\/li><li><strong>Mac Users<\/strong>: Double-click the <strong>.dmg <\/strong>file then double-click the <strong>.pkg <\/strong>to begin the installation process.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Which-drivers-should-I-install\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Which drivers should I install?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re using Windows, you will be prompted to select which drivers you\u2019d like to install. Uncheck all of the boxes except for <strong>ioStation<\/strong>, then continue to complete the installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Setup-and-connections\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Setup and connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After registration and installation, it\u2019s time to connect the ioStation. When you first connect the device to your computer, you will want to open the Universal Control app to update the firmware and interface sound settings.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Update-the-firmware\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Update the firmware<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PreSonus will release firmware updates periodically. The controller functionality is just like the PreSonus Faderport. For it to work correctly in your DAW, you must select the correct <em>Operation Mode<\/em>. By default, the ioStation is configured for use in Studio One, but if you\u2019re using another DAW, you will need to change the mode.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press and hold the <strong>Next <\/strong>button while turning it on. Let go of the <strong>Next <\/strong>button and wait for the pads to start flashing.<\/li><li>Press the button corresponding to your DAW below to change the <em>Operation Mode<\/em>.<ul><li><strong>Touch<\/strong> &#8211; Pro Tools <em>(HUI protocol)<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Bypass <\/strong>&#8211; Cubase <em>(MCU protocol)<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Mute <\/strong>&#8211; Logic <em>(MCU protocol)<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Arm <\/strong>&#8211; Ableton Live <em>(MCU protocol)<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Solo <\/strong>&#8211; Studio One<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Launch your DAW and set it up as a MIDI device.
