Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Performing a factory reset will bring the unit back to its original out-of-the-box state. This is a good way to troubleshoot if you\u2019re experiencing any issues, even after updating the firmware. So in this guide, we will show you how to perform a factory reset to your Boss Katana amp. Follow the sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Back up user presets and data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Before you go through the reset procedure, you\u2019ll want to back up all of your presets. This can be done loading your tones to a Liveset <\/em>in Boss Tone Studio<\/strong>, and saving it as a .tsl<\/strong> file. You if you have made any additional configurations (i.e., foot pedal assignments, line out settings)<\/em>, you will also need to back up any data as a separate .alb <\/strong>file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Go to the Librarian menu and click the export <\/strong>button.<\/li>
    2. Select the Livesets you wish to back up, then click FILE<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. Click System <\/strong>and select All Data Backup<\/strong>.<\/li>
      2. Select TO FILE<\/strong>, rename it, and click Save<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        1. Turn the unit off, and set the POWER CONTROL <\/strong>knob to STANDBY<\/strong>.<\/li>
        2. Press and hold the PANEL <\/strong>button and turn the Katana on. The Booster<\/em>, Mod<\/em>, Delay<\/em>, and Reverb<\/em> LEDs will flash.<\/li>
        3. Release the PANEL <\/strong>button. Once the PANEL <\/strong>button starts flashing, the factory reset is complete. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
