These updates are released periodically and typically include new features, bug fixes, and optimization to the system\u2019s internal software. Before performing an update, check which firmware version you\u2019re currently on and compare it to the latest listed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akaipro.com\/mpc-one\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">MPC One download page<\/a>. All you need to do is press the <strong>Menu button<\/strong> then tap the <strong>Cog <\/strong>icon. The firmware version will be listed there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Update-the-firmware-using-a-USB-thumb-drive\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Update the firmware using a USB thumb drive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When updating the firmware on your MPC One using a USB thumb drive, you must make sure that you have at least 1GB of space. The thumb drive also needs to be formatted to exFAT. If this is your first time formatting an external drive, be sure to visit our instructions for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/how-to-format-external-hard-drives-on-macos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Mac<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/how-to-format-an-external-hard-drive-on-windows-10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">PC<\/a>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Go to the Akai MPC One <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akaipro.com\/mpc-one\" target=\"_blank\">download page<\/a>, and download the <strong>USB Firmware Update<\/strong> file. Downloading the incorrect one may result in a failed update.<\/li><li>Connect your USB thumb drive to your computer, go to your <em>Downloads <\/em>folder, then copy and paste the <strong>mpc-*.*.*-update <\/strong>file to your thumb drive.<\/li><li>Connect the thumb drive to your MPC One, turn on your MPC One, and press the <strong>MENU<\/strong> button.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>Gear<\/strong> icon on the display to enter the <strong>Preferences<\/strong> menu.<\/li><li>Hold the <strong>SHIFT <\/strong>button and tap <strong>Update<\/strong>, then follow the on-screen prompts.<ul><li>The firmware update will take approximately a minute, and will then restart. <strong>Do not <\/strong>turn the unit off or disconnect the USB thumb drive while updating.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Follow the steps in the Check firmware version section to make sure.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Update-the-firmware-using-your-computer\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Update the firmware using your computer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t have a USB thumb drive available, another option is to update the firmware using your computer. You will need to download firmware update software, but besides that, the process is very simple.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Go to the Akai MPC One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akaipro.com\/mpc-one\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">download page<\/a>, and download the <strong>Firmware Update<\/strong> file for your OS.
