You have the ability to import many different types of audio files: .AIFF<\/strong>, .DS<\/strong>, .DWP<\/strong>, .FLAC<\/strong>, .MP3<\/strong>, .OGG<\/strong>, .SF2<\/strong>, .Speech<\/strong>, .SYN<\/strong>, .XI<\/strong>, and .WAV. <\/strong>There are multiple ways you can import them, as well. Depending on what you plan on doing with the audio, you may choose one option over the other, but it\u2019s easy no matter which way you do it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Drag and drop<\/p>\n\n\n\n Except for Fruity Edition, you can drag and drop audio from File Explorer (PC) <\/em>or Finder (Mac)<\/em> directly into the Playlist<\/em>. Once on the Playlist, it will create an audio track on the Channel Rack<\/em>. You can also drag and drop audio files from the Browser <\/em>window, as well. The drag and drop method is best for when you want to add a longer audio file to the Playlist, such as a drone sound or a song that you want to remix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Create an audio clip<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another option to import audio is to create an empty Audio Clip channel and importing it through the Audio Clip Settings <\/em>window. Using this option is great for when you want to create a rhythm like a hi-hat pattern, or using a one-shot sample like a bass drop or crash cymbal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Import audio into Edison<\/p>\n\n\n\n Importing audio is also possible using the Edison plug-in. You can either drag and drop the audio file from the Browser<\/em> window or use the Edison File Browser. Importing into Edison is very useful if you need to make advanced edits beforehand, such as normalizing, de-noising, and EQing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Import audio into Slicex<\/p>\n\n\n\n The final way to import audio is to load it into the Slicex plug-in. Slicex uses beat detection, creates individual samples, and automatically assigns each to a note on the piano roll.
