Follow the sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong><a href=\"#Register-the-device\">Register the device<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><a href=\"#Push-2-setup-and-connections\"><strong>Push 2 setup and connections<\/strong><\/a><ul><li><strong><a href=\"#Foot-pedals\">Foot pedals<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Register-the-device\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Register the device<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#ffe46e\" class=\"has-background\"><strong>IMPORTANT: <\/strong>If you also purchased an Ableton Live upgrade, you must first register the Push 2 before activating your upgrade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before we get started, the first thing you need to do is register the Push with Ableton. When you register the hardware, you will get a license for a free copy of Ableton Live. Once registered, you can then activate and install Live.&nbsp; Follow the steps below to register and then continue to Setup and connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Log in to your <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ableton.com\/en\/login\/?next=\/en\/account\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ableton account<\/a>. If you haven\u2019t done so yet, you can create one at this time.<\/li><li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ableton.com\/en\/account\/add_license\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">product registration page<\/a>, enter the Push registration code located on the back of the yellow envelope, then click <strong>Submit<\/strong>. It\u2019s also class-compliant, so no additional driver software is required. If you\u2019re a Mac user, all you need to do is connect it to your computer and launch Live. If you\u2019re a Windows user, you first need to make sure that both Windows and your computer\u2019s graphics drivers are up to date. While the Push can be bus-powered, the display and pads will be significantly dimmer. Ableton also recommends not using USB hubs, as it can lead to performance and connectivity issues.<\/li><li>If the Push 2 is stuck at the loading screen, be sure that Ableton Live is open. The first \u00bc\u201d jack is for sustain pedals. The second jack is configured for toggling the <strong>Record <\/strong>button. If the Push is in <em>User Mode<\/em>, you can set the pedal to control virtually any MIDI function. These typically add new features and bug fixes for the device\u2019s internal software. When these updates are released, the firmware will automatically update when you connect the Push to your computer and launch Live.
