When you register the device, you\u2019ll gain access to software downloads and a coupon code for 40 free drum lessons from Melodics. Keep your Sweetwater invoice handy, as you will need to enter the purchase date. Follow the steps below and then continue to the Strike setup and connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/alesis.com\/account\/signin\" target=\"_blank\">Log in to your Alesis account<\/a>. If you don\u2019t have one yet, you can <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/alesis.com\/account\/create\" target=\"_blank\">create one here<\/a>.<\/li><li>Navigate to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alesis.com\/account\/register-product\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">registration page<\/a>, select your version of the Strike kit, enter the serial number <em>(located on the module packing box, underneath the module, and on the front page of the manual)<\/em>, and then click <strong>Register My Product<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Go to the Melodics homepage and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/melodics.com\/thanks?p=win&amp;instr=drums\" target=\"_blank\">download the free app<\/a> for your OS. The individual outputs let you send different drums to separate channels on a mixer or your audio interface. It also has MIDI and USB connectivity for recording in your DAW, and an aux input so you can play along to your favorite tracks on a mobile device.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Drum-pads-and-cymbals\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Drum pads and cymbals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are 13 TRS inputs available on the Strike module. You can expand your kit even further if you use a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/c780--Insert_Y_Cables\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">TRS to TS Y-cable<\/a>. Dual-zone pads require the use of TRS cables, so if using a splitter cable, you will lose one zone. It\u2019ll typically be the second zone, which is typically the rim on a drum pad or choke on a cymbal pad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Turn the knobs on the snare and tom pads to adjust what\u2019s called sensitivity focus. The position of the knob determines whether the center of the head or the rim becomes more sensitive when hitting the pad.<\/li><li>Connect the hi-hat pad to the HH input and the hi-hat module to the HH Control input.<\/li><li>When assembling the kit, make sure that the Alesis logo on the cymbal pads is facing you. The choke and edge zones do not go around the entire pad.<\/li><li>Use a plastic or wood beater on the kick drum pad. Felt beaters cause more friction and will wear out the mesh head prematurely.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Alesis Strike Pro Kit \u2013 Setup and Trigger Settings\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XTDZhkSvKeI?wmode=transparent&amp;rel=0&amp;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignCenter noUnderline customh5 swheader\"> <strong>Alesis Strike Setup and Trigger Settings<\/strong> <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Audio\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Audio<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two Main outputs, seven individual <em>(Direct Audio)<\/em> mono outputs, and one headphone output available. You can also connect a mobile device using a \u215b\u201d TRS cable via the Aux In jack. The main outs require TRS cables, while the individual outputs can accept either TS or TRS.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"SD-cards\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">SD cards<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You can import, record, and export custom samples and songs using an SD card up to 64GB of storage. The Strike comes with an 8GB SD card already inserted. If you want to use your a separate SD card, Alesis recommends using 40 MB\/s Class 10 SDHC cards formatted to FAT32. If your computer doesn\u2019t have an SD card reader, you will need an <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/store\/detail\/CardReadUSB--siig-usb-2.0-multi-card-reader\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">external card reader<\/a>. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The Direct Audio output levels are fixed at 0dB, and effects will not be applied. This means that the on-board mixer will not control the level of the Direct Audio outputs.<\/li><li>You can route the metronome to the Mains, headphones, or both. To do this, press <strong>Utility<\/strong>, select <strong>METRO<\/strong>, navigate to <strong>OUTPUT <\/strong>and use the knob to choose HPH <em>(headphones)<\/em>, Main+HPH, or Main.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Computer\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Computer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Alesis Strike MIDI notes can be recorded into your DAW via USB. The module is class-compliant, meaning no additional driver software is necessary. Just connect a USB cable to a computer, and you\u2019re ready to go. You will also need to connect the Strike to your computer when using the Strike Editor software and to perform firmware updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"MIDI\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh4 swheader\">MIDI<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Another way to record the Strike kit is via 5-pin MIDI cables. You can also use MIDI to trigger sounds or control external drum machines or synthesizers.
