IMPORTANT: <\/strong>Be sure that you temporarily disable any third-party antivirus software installed on your computer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this guide we will show you how to perform a forced update on the Rodecaster Pro. This procedure should only be done if your firmware update failed, if the display doesn’t work, or the hardware is acting erratically.  Follow the instructions below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Download the latest firmware updater software from the Rode download page<\/a>.<\/li>
  2. With the Rodecaster Pro powered off, connect it to your computer via USB.<\/li>
  3. Press and hold the Channel 2 <\/strong>and 4 <\/strong>buttons, and power it on. Continue to hold them until the REC <\/strong>light flashes white. 
    • Once you see the REC <\/strong>light flash, let go of the Channel 2 <\/strong>and 4 <\/strong>buttons.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
    • Launch the firmware updater software. You should see a window pop up asking which device you would like to update.<\/li>
    • When the window appears press and hold down the ALT <\/strong>key (Windows) <\/em>or Option <\/strong>key (Mac)<\/em>, select the Rodecaster Pro, and then click Next<\/strong>.<\/li>
    • On the last screen, you will be prompted to downgrade to the latest firmware. Click Yes<\/strong>. Once the firmware starts the installation process, you may let go of the Alt<\/strong>\/Option<\/strong> key.
      • The process may take a few minutes, so be sure not to power off or disconnect the device from your computer. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
