The process differs slightly depending on whether you\u2019re using Windows or Mac, so follow these steps to open the firmware updater software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"MacOS\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">MacOS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Go to your <em>Downloads <\/em>folder, double-click the <strong>.zip<\/strong> file, double-click the <strong>.dmg<\/strong> file, and then launch the firmware updater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Windows-PC\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Windows PC<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Go to your <em>Downloads <\/em>folder, right-click the <strong>.zip <\/strong>file and select <strong>Extract All\u2026<\/strong><\/li><li>In the folder that opens, double-click the Alesis Strike Firmware Updater installer, and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li><li>Click the <strong>Windows<\/strong> icon on the taskbar, type Firmware Updater, and then launch the Updater app. Alternatively go to&nbsp; <em>C:\/Program Files (x86)\/Alesis\/Strike Firmware Updater\/<\/em> and double-click <strong>Alesis Strike Firmware Updater.exe<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#How-to-update-the-firmware-on-an-Alesis-Strike\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat s blue\">Return to top<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Update-the-firmware\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Update the firmware<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The final step in the process is to update the firmware. These updates take some time as there are often many new samples and kits that are installed. It updates three elements of the module. The OS, trigger, and library. Be sure not to power off or disconnect your module during the update process as it may brick the unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press and hold the <strong>Record <\/strong>button and turn the device on. This will put the module into update mode.<\/li><li>Connect the module to your computer via USB. Once connected, click <strong>SCAN FOR DEVICE<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Click <strong>UPDATE FIRMWARE<\/strong> to begin the update process.&nbsp;<\/li><li>When prompted, restart the unit and press <strong>SCAN FOR DEVICE <\/strong>once more to begin the library update.
