How to perform a factory reset on a Roland SPD-SX<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In this guide, we will show you how to back up data and how to restore the SPD-SX back to its factory settings. Resetting the device will erase all your custom settings, so make sure to back them up. Follow the sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Back up user data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    TIP: <\/strong>Depending on how much user data is stored on the SPD-SX, the backup process may take a bit of time. Do not turn the device off while the backup is being performed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Performing a factory reset will erase all of your user data and bring the SPD-SX back to its original out-of-the-box state. So before performing the reset, it\u2019s good practice to back up your data on a FAT<\/strong> or FAT32 <\/strong>formatted USB thumb drive. Follow these steps to back up your data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Connect the USB thumb drive to USB MEMORY <\/strong>port on the back of the SPD-SX.<\/li>
    2. Press MENU<\/strong>, navigate to UTIL<\/strong> and then use the DOWN <\/strong>cursor arrow to select SAVE (USB MEM)<\/strong>.<\/li>
    3. Select which type of backup you would like to perform:
