Check out Universal Audio\u2019s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/help.uaudio.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/215731443-Apollo-Thunderbolt-Windows-Compatibility\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Apollo Thunderbolt Windows Compatibility guide<\/strong><\/a> for information.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some Windows settings must be updated before connecting an Apollo Thunderbolt interface to your PC. That typically means updating the operating system, Thunderbolt drivers, and BIOS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Update-Windows\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Update Windows<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Thunderbolt 3 requires the latest version of Windows to function correctly. While Windows 10 performs automatic updates, it\u2019s always good practice to check and make sure you\u2019re running on the latest version before connecting your Apollo Thunderbolt interface.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Click the Windows <strong>Start <\/strong>icon, click <strong>Settings <\/strong>(cog icon), and then select <strong>Update &amp; Security<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Click <strong>Windows Update<\/strong> and select <strong>Check for updates<\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Update-Thunderbolt-3-driver-and-BIOS\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Update Thunderbolt 3 driver and BIOS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After Windows has been successfully updated, you\u2019ll need to install the latest Thunderbolt 3 driver for your motherboard and also update your BIOS. Since there are many different brands of motherboards, you\u2019ll need to confirm the motherboard\u2019s manufacturer and model before downloading. Here\u2019s how to check what type of motherboard you have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Click the Windows <strong>Start<\/strong> icon, type <strong>system<\/strong>, and select <strong>System Information<\/strong>.<\/li><li>When the <em>System Information<\/em> window opens, click <strong>System Summary<\/strong>. The motherboard manufacturer and model will be listed as <em>BaseBoard Manufacturer<\/em> and <em>BaseBoard Product<\/em>.<\/li><li>Open a web browser, go to the manufacturer\u2019s website and search for the latest Thunderbolt firmware, drivers, and BIOS update. Often times, Thunderbolt drivers and firmware will be listed under the <strong>Chipset <\/strong>category.<\/li><li>Go to your Downloads folder, run the installers, and then restart your computer.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat s blue\">Return to top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Enable-Thunderbolt-in-BIOS\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Enable Thunderbolt in BIOS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-dark-gray-color has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#ffcfd3\"><strong>IMPORTANT: <\/strong>If you&#8217;re unsure on how to navigate through your PC&#8217;s BIOS, please refer to the computer or motherboard manufacturer\u2019s owner\u2019s manual or contact their support team. Changing the wrong settings can lead to system instability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on what system you have, you may need to enable Thunderbolt within your BIOS. This is especially true if you installed a Thunderbolt PCI-e card. To enter the BIOS, you typically need to keep pressing the <strong>F2<\/strong>, <strong>F11<\/strong>, or <strong>Del <\/strong>key as soon as you turn the computer on. After connecting it to your PC, you will need to \u201capprove\u201d the device to allow it to function correctly. Follow these steps to configure and approve the Apollo Thunderbolt on Windows.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Connect the interface to the Thunderbolt port, and then turn the unit on.<\/li><li>Once connected, you will receive a notification stating that the Thunderbolt application must run with Administrator privileges.
