That means to use it, you will need to connect its iLok license to your computer. If you don\u2019t already have an iLok account, you\u2019ll need to create one and install the iLok License Manager app. Follow the steps below to get started. If you already have an account, pass these steps and continue to <a href=\"#Download-UVI-Portal\">Download UVI Portal<\/a>. Learn more about iLok licensing in our <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/ilok-license-manager-tutorial\/\" target=\"_blank\">iLok Setup Guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Create-an-iLok-account-during-registration\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Create an iLok account during registration<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also create an iLok account through UVI when <a href=\"#Register-serial-number\">registering your software&#8217;s serial number<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Visit iLok\u2019s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ilok.com\/#!registration\" target=\"_blank\">registration page<\/a> and complete the registration form. New users will need to create a new account, but if you already have one just continue using the same login. Follow the steps below to log in to your UVI account and <a href=\"https:\/\/support.uvi.net\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/5247938133661-Step-1-Install-and-Connect-to-UVI-Portal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">install the UVI Portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uvi.net\/en\/authentication\" target=\"_blank\">Create a UVI account<\/a> or log in with your current one.<\/li><li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvi.net\/en\/uvi-portal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">UVI Portal page<\/a> and click the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uvi.net\/en\/uvi-portal#download\" target=\"_blank\">download button<\/a> for your operating system.<\/li><li>Open the <strong>Downloads<\/strong> folder and launch the installer:<ul><li><strong>PC:<\/strong> Double-click the <em>UVI Portal<\/em> <strong>.exe<\/strong> file and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li><li><strong>Mac:<\/strong> Double-click the <em>UVI Portal<\/em> <strong>.dmg<\/strong> file. You\u2019ll need the Serial Number sent from your Sweetwater Sales Engineer. Open the email, find the Serial Number, and then <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"enter it into the UVI Portal (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/support.uvi.net\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360000762157-Step-2-Register-Your-UVI-Product\" target=\"_blank\">enter it into the UVI Portal<\/a>. You also need enter your iLok information to receive the license. Make sure to enter the correct iLok User ID. Log in to the iLok License Manager app and <a href=\"https:\/\/support.uvi.net\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360000759898-Step-4-Activate-Your-UVI-License\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"move the license (opens in a new tab)\">move the license<\/a> from your account to either the computer or a connected iLok USB dongle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Sign in to the iLok License Manager and click the <strong>Available<\/strong> tab.<\/li><li>Locate your license and drag it to either your <strong>computer<\/strong> or a connected <strong>iLok USB dongle<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Wait for the license to transfer to complete and click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-gifffer=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/media\/2018\/02\/Transfer-iLok-License-to-Computer.gif\" alt=\"Transfer-iLok-License-to-Computer\" class=\"wp-image-1738348\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Transferring an iLok license to your computer.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#Getting-started\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat s blue\">Return to top<\/a>   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Install-UVI-software\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Install UVI software<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>UVI SoundBanks are <strong>.ufs<\/strong> files which can be loaded into the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uvi.net\/en\/instruments\/uvi-workstation.html\" target=\"_blank\">UVI Workstation<\/a> <em>(free)<\/em> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvi.net\/en\/instruments\/falcon.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Falcon<\/a>. That means to get the software working you\u2019ll need both the player and the SoundBank. The UVI Portal will take care of installing SoundBanks to the specified paths, but SoundBank locations can be reconfigured in the UVI Workstation <strong>Preferences<\/strong> <em>(Menu &gt; Preferences &gt; SoundBanks)<\/em>. Download the player and then all affiliated SoundBanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your UVI software is not a soundbank, such as a stand-alone instrument or effect plug-in, the software will be located in your applications folder or as a plug-in in your favorite DAW. Regardless of which product you have, all UVI software can also be downloaded from the UVI <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uvi.net\/en\/my-products\" target=\"_blank\">My Products page<\/a> and then <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/support.uvi.net\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360000883378\" target=\"_blank\">installed manually<\/a>.
