These updates are released periodically and will often add new features and optimizations to the device&#8217;s internal software. Follow both sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><a href=\"#Check-the-firmware-version\"><strong>Check the firmware version<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Download-and-install-the-MicroFreak-firmware\">Download and install the MicroFreak firmware<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Check-the-firmware-version\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Check the firmware version<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before downloading and installing the firmware on the MicroFreak, you should first check which version it&#8217;s currently running and compare it to the latest version available on Arturia&#8217;s MicroFreak product page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Power on the device. The firmware version will be listed on the <em>Loading <\/em>screen.&nbsp;<ul><li>You can also view the firmware version by connecting the MicroFreak to your computer and launching the <strong>MIDI Control Center <\/strong>app.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Go to the MicroFreak <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arturia.com\/products\/hardware-synths\/microfreak\/resources\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">resource page<\/a> and locate the latest released firmware.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Download-and-install-the-MicroFreak-firmware\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Download and install the MicroFreak firmware<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If your device needs to be updated, the next step is to download &amp; install the MicroFreak firmware. This is done through the <strong>MIDI Control Center <\/strong>app. Do not use a USB hub when performing a firmware update, as this will result in the update to fail. Follow the steps below to complete the firmware update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Connect your device to the computer and power it on.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Launch the <strong>MIDI Control Center <\/strong>app, and select the MicroFreak in the device drop-down list.<\/li><li>Click <strong>Download Latest<\/strong>, and follow the on-screen prompts. The process takes approximately 3 minutes.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The device will automatically restart once the firmware update is complete.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Are-you-receiving-firmware-update-errors\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Are you receiving firmware update errors?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are receiving an error while performing the firmware update, close the <strong>MIDI Control Center <\/strong>app, disconnect the MicroFreak and try a different USB port.
