Follow the sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><a href=\"#Recording-and-importing-samples-on-the-Strike-Multipad\"><strong>Recording &amp; importing samples<\/strong> <strong>on the Strike Multipad<\/strong><\/a><ul><li><strong><a href=\"#external-audio\">Record from external audio<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Import-samples-from-a-USB-thumb-drive\">Import from a USB thumb drive<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#recording-with-a-daw\">Recording with<\/a><a href=\"#Recording-with-a-DAW\"> <\/a><a href=\"#recording-with-a-daw\">a DAW<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Editing-samples\">Editing samples<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Recording-and-importing-samples-on-the-Strike-Multipad\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Recording and importing samples on the Strike Multipad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Strike Multipad has 32GB of internal storage and also supports to 32GB of external memory with the use of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/c1141--Flash_Drives\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">USB thumb drive<\/a> formatted to <strong>FAT32<\/strong> so the number of custom samples you can play with are endless.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"External-audio\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">External audio<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#05629c\" class=\"has-text-color has-background has-very-light-gray-color\"><strong>TIP: <\/strong>Before recording external audio, adjust the input volume so it doesn\u2019t clip. Navigate to the <strong>Utility <\/strong>menu, press the <strong>F2 <\/strong>(<em>Audio<\/em>) button, and use the Main Encoder to adjust the <strong>Rec In Vol<\/strong> to the desired level.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can record samples from an external source such as a mixer, phone, or tablet and assign them to a pad by connecting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/c786--Guitar_Instrument_Cables\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">\u00bc\u201d TS instrument cables<\/a> to the <strong>REC IN <\/strong>jacks on the back of the device.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press the <strong>Sample <\/strong>button and strike the pad you wish to put the sample on.<\/li><li>Use the Main Encoder and set the Source to <strong>Rec In<\/strong>, and press <strong>F5 <\/strong><em>(Arm to Record)<\/em>.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>F5 <\/strong><em>(Start Recording) <\/em>button to begin and end recording the external audio, and then press it again to save.<ul><li>To preview the recorded sample before saving, press the <strong>F4 <\/strong><em>(Play\/Stop) <\/em>button.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#Getting-started\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat s blue\">Return to top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Import-samples-from-a-USB-thumb-drive\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Import samples from a USB thumb drive<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connecting a USB thumb drive to the <strong>USB Memory <\/strong>port allows you to import audio samples. For the thumb drive to work correctly, it must be formatted to <strong>FAT32<\/strong>. All audio samples must be in <strong>.WAV <\/strong>format and located in the root directory. This means they cannot be placed in any folder or sub-folder.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press the <strong>Sound <\/strong>button, and then hit the pad where you wish to load the sample to.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>F3 <\/strong><em>(Import) <\/em>button to access the USB thumb drive and use the main encoder to select the sample.<ul><li>Press the <strong>F4 <\/strong><em>(Play\/Stop) <\/em>button to preview the audio.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Press the <strong>F5 <\/strong><em>(Single)<\/em><strong> <\/strong>button to import the individual sample. Since audio is being streamed through the USB cable, no additional hardware connections to your audio interface are necessary. Before you can begin recording, however, update your DAW settings and set the Strike Multipad as your recording and playback device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Record-Strike-Multipad-audio-into-a-DAW\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Record Strike Multipad audio into a DAW<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Create an audio track in your DAW and set the input of the Strike Multipad.<ul><li><em>Channel 1 <\/em>or <em>Channel 2 <\/em>for Mono<\/li><li><em>Channel \u00bd <\/em>for Stereo<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Press record in the DAW and start performing.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Record-DAW-audio-into-the-Strike-Multipad\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Record DAW audio into the Strike Multipad<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>While in <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1LRtoEXB1ocxfHt3NpfmpoFywSEZvzyoaF8Am_XH8gaU\/edit#heading=h.h7x073kp3xr7\">Perform <\/a>mode, press the <strong>F6 <\/strong><em>(View) <\/em>button to enter Looper mode, and then press <strong>F5 <\/strong><em>(Settings) <\/em>to select the <em>After Rec<\/em><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>option.&nbsp;<ul><li><strong>Overdub <\/strong>will loop and overwrite the recording.<\/li><li><strong>Playback <\/strong>will stop the recording but continue to loop the audio.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Press the <strong>F4 <\/strong><em>(Measure) <\/em>button to set the number of measures you wish to record onto the device.<\/li><li>Press the <strong>F3 <\/strong><em>(Record) <\/em>button to arm the device, and then press it again to begin.<ul><li>A one measure pre-count will occur before the device begins recording.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Once you\u2019re finished, press the <strong>F4 <\/strong><em>(Save) <\/em>button.&nbsp;<ul><li>To preview the sample before saving, press the <strong>F2 <\/strong><em>(Play) <\/em>button.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#Getting-started\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat s blue\">Return to top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Editing-samples\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Editing samples<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#ffe46e\" class=\"has-background\"><strong>IMPORTANT: <\/strong>If you wish to edit a factory sample, you must copy it to the <em>User Library<\/em> first. To do this, select the factory sample, press <strong>F6 <\/strong><em>(Edit)<\/em>, and then select <strong>Copy To User<\/strong>. Once it\u2019s copied, it will be placed in the User library.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve imported or recorded samples onto the module, you can then edit them via the <strong>Sample Edit <\/strong>menu. To get to the Edit menu, press the <strong>Sound <\/strong>menu button, and use the <em>Main Encoder<\/em> knob to select the <em>User <\/em>library and <em>New Sample <\/em>category.
