The process is a little different between Digital Performer and virtual instruments, so make sure to use the corresponding section. Follow each of the sections below to get started.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong><a href=\"#Register-Serial-Number-or-Keycode\">Register Serial Number or Keycode<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Download-and-install\">Download and install<\/a><\/strong><ul><li><strong><a href=\"#Digital-Performer\">Digital Performer<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Virtual-instruments\">Virtual instruments<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Register-Serial-Number-or-Keycode\" style=\"text-align: left; font-size: 240%; font-weight: bold; color: #333333;\">Register Serial Number or Keycode<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to access your software, you first need to register with MOTU. New users need to create an account but returning users should use their existing MOTU login. Once registered, the software and its Serial Number\/Keycode can be found on your account\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/motu.com\/en-us\/accounts\/registrations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">registration page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Create an account or log in with your current one.<\/li><li>Go to your account\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/motu.com\/en-us\/accounts\/registrations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">registration page<\/a> and click <strong>+REGISTER A PRODUCT<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Enter your <strong>Serial Number <\/strong>or<strong> Keycode<\/strong>, complete the form and click <strong>SAVE<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Download-and-install\" style=\"text-align: left; font-size: 240%; font-weight: bold; color: #333333;\">Download and install<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Software downloads are found on the MOTU <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/motu.com\/download\" target=\"_blank\">downloads page<\/a> and your account\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/motu.com\/en-us\/accounts\/registrations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">registrations page<\/a>. Once downloaded, you\u2019ll run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions. <a href=\"#Digital-Performer\">Digital Performer<\/a> will prompt for its Keycode and while <a href=\"#Virtual-instruments\">virtual instruments<\/a> require their iLok license.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Digital-Performer\" style=\"text-align: left; font-size: 200%; font-weight: bold; color: #143B74;\"><strong>Digital Performer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After you install and launch Digital Performer, you\u2019ll be prompted to authorize it by entering its Keycode and your registered email address. After that, all that\u2019s left to do is configure your audio and MIDI devices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Go to your account\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/motu.com\/en-us\/accounts\/registrations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">registrations page<\/a> and click the <strong>VIEW DETAILS<\/strong> button for your software.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Click the download compatible with your operating system.<\/li><li>Open your <strong>Downloads<\/strong> folder, double-click the DP <strong>.exe<\/strong> or <strong>.pkg <\/strong>file, and follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li><li>Launch Digital Performer and use your Keycode to complete the prompt.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Virtual-instruments\" style=\"text-align: left; font-size: 200%; font-weight: bold; color: #143B74;\"><strong>Virtual instruments<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>MOTU virtual instrument software uses soundbanks and without them wouldn\u2019t produce sound. They\u2019ll install to your computer\u2019s internal hard drive by default, but you can choose to place them on an external hard drive <em>(<a href=\"#Soundbanks-on-external-storage\">see below<\/a>)<\/em>. Some are standalone plug-ins, while others are libraries that use the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uvi.net\/en\/instruments\/uvi-workstation.html\" target=\"_blank\">UVI Workstation<\/a>. Use the video below to see the installation process. Once installed, you\u2019ll finish the installation by authorizing your instrument\u2019s iLok license. If you install them to an external drive, you must create an alias\/shortcut in the soundbank\u2019s original location.
