The Rodecaster Pro is considered class-compliant on Mac, which means it doesn\u2019t need third-party audio drivers. PC users will need to download <a href=\"http:\/\/asio4all.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"ASIO4All (opens in a new tab)\">ASIO4All<\/a> for proper connectivity. Launch the firmware updater application within the <strong>rodecaster_app_installer<\/strong> folder, and follow the on-screen instructions. Before recording in your DAW or on to an SD card, be sure to update the firmware to the latest version. Follow these steps to update the firmware connect the unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Hardware-connections\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Hardware connections<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Speakers<\/strong>: connect \u00bc\u201d <strong>TRS<\/strong> cables to the main outs on the back of the unit.<\/li><li><strong>Headphones<\/strong>: Connect the headphones to one of the four <em>Headphone Out<\/em> jacks.<\/li><li><strong>MicroSD<\/strong>: Insert the MicroSD card in the indicated slot. If transferring the files using a MicroSD to standard SD adapter, be sure that the adapter\u2019s lock is off!<\/li><li><strong>Media device<\/strong>: Use a <strong>TRRS<\/strong> cable to connect a media device such as a smartphone or mp3 player.<\/li><li><strong>USB-C<\/strong>: Use the included USB-C cable to connect to your computer. Do not use a Thunderbolt cable! These menus are where you will make changes such as USB connectivity, microphone level, and connectivity, as well as recording sounds which are triggered by the pads on the right-hand side of the unit. Press the <strong>Cog<\/strong>&nbsp;icon to get these settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Channel\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Channel<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The channel menu is where you will make changes to individual channels such as the type of microphone that\u2019s connected, the overall level of the channel, and turning effects on or off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Sounds\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Sounds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sounds menu is very straight forward. Open the menu, then tap a button on the screen to record audio to the assigned pad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Hardware\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Hardware<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hardware menu is where you will enable or disable multichannel USB recording, view the microSD card capacity, and also make changes to the Bluetooth settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#Rodecaster-Pro-setup-guide\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat s blue\">Return to top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Recording-in-a-DAW\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Recording in a DAW<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you can begin recording within a DAW, you\u2019ll need to make sure that the Microphone and USB settings are set correctly. Make sure to change these settings in the order below; <a href=\"#microphone-settings\">microphone<\/a>, <a href=\"#usb-settings\">USB<\/a>, then <a href=\"#daw-settings\">DAW<\/a>. Follow these steps to change the settings appropriately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Microphone-settings\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Microphone settings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press the channel\u2019s pad you wish to edit located above the channel fader.<\/li><li>Press <strong>Microphone<\/strong>, then select the microphone you are using. Be sure to press Condenser to engage Phantom Power (+48v)!<ul><li>You can also engage or disengage Phantom Power by pressing Level then pressing the Phantom Power slider at the bottom of the screen.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Go back to the <strong>Channel<\/strong> menu, then press <strong>Advanced<\/strong> to enable or disable any effects such as the compressor, high-pass filter, or de-esser.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"USB-settings\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">USB settings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Navigate to the <strong>Hardware<\/strong> menu, then press <strong>Advanced<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Enable <strong>USB<\/strong> in the <strong>Multichannel Recording<\/strong> section. You will be prompted to disconnect then reconnect the USB cable to save the change.<\/li><li>Turn up the channels you wish to record, as well as the USB fader up to an appropriate level.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"DAW-settings\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">DAW settings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#ffe46e\" class=\"has-background\"><strong>NOTE<\/strong>:&nbsp;This is not a DAW controller, so you will need to manually start and stop recording in your DAW. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f2f1f0\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Create a mono track for each channel you will be recording, and then record enable them.<\/li><li>Press <strong>Record<\/strong> on the Rodecaster Pro, as well as within your DAW.
