Read the sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><a href=\"#Register-the-Clarett\"><strong>Register the Clarett<\/strong><\/a><ul><li><strong><a href=\"#Download-and-Install-Focusrite-Control-2\">Download and Install Focusrite Control<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Clarett-Setup-and-Connections\">Clarett Setup and Connections<\/a><\/strong><ul><li><a href=\"#Connect-to-a-Computer\"><strong>Connect to a Computer<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#Pairing-the-Clarett-With-an-iOS-Device\"><strong>Pairing the Clarett With an iOS device<\/strong><\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Using-Focusrite-Control-2\">Using Focusrite Control<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Register-the-Clarett\">Register the Clarett<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you can start recording with your new interface, there are a few steps you need to take. You\u2019ll need to register the unit, which allows you to get free plug-ins, download the appropriate drivers, and update the firmware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Focusrite Clarett interfaces include free bundled software and plug-ins. To get licenses for the software, you must register your interface on the Focusrite website using the included bundle code and serial number. Once registered, you\u2019ll get access to the registration codes and download links. Follow the steps below to register your Clarett.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Log into your <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/customer.focusrite.com\/register\" target=\"_blank\">Focusrite account<\/a>. If you haven\u2019t created an account yet, create one <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/customer.focusrite.com\/register\/signup\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/li><li>On your account home page, click <strong>Register A New Product<\/strong> and select your Clarett interface.<\/li><li>Fill out the information, including the <strong>bundle code<\/strong> and <strong>serial number<\/strong> located on the card that came with your interface, then click <strong>Submit<\/strong>. The serial number is also listed on the bottom of the device.<\/li><li>Once registered, click <strong>My Software<\/strong> on the top of the Focusrite page to download and register the bundled software.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Download-and-Install-Focusrite-Control-2\">Download and Install Focusrite Control 2<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After registration, the next step is to download and install Focusrite Control 2 for your OS. All of the necessary drivers are included in the installer, so there is only one file to download. Follow these steps to download and install Focusrite Control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Visit the Focusrite <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/downloads.focusrite.com\/focusrite\/clarett\" target=\"_blank\">download page<\/a> and select your Clarett interface.<\/li><li>Click the <strong>Software<\/strong> box and download <strong>Focusrite Control<\/strong> for your OS.<\/li><li>Go to your Downloads folder and run the Focusrite Control installer.<ul><li><strong>Windows (PC)<\/strong> <strong>Users:<\/strong> Double-click the <strong>.exe<\/strong> file to begin the installation process.<\/li><li><strong>Mac Users:<\/strong> Double-click the<strong> .dmg<\/strong> file, then double-click the <strong>.pkg<\/strong> to begin the installation process.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation, then reboot the computer once completed.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Are-you-using-an-iOS-device\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Are you using an iOS device?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Focusrite Control 2 is also available for iOS devices. To get the app, simply go to the App Store, then search for and download <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/tm\/app\/focusrite-control-2\/id6479611881\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Focusrite Control 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Clarett-Setup-and-Connections\">Clarett Setup and Connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve registered the device and downloaded the latest version of Focusrite Control, the next step is to connect the Clarett to your computer, set it as your computer\u2019s default playback and recording device, then set up the routing within Focusrite Control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Connect-to-a-Computer\">Connect to a Computer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Connecting a Clarett series interface is very simple. Plug the power supply in and connect the USB cable to the computer. While you can connect the interface to a USB hub, we highly recommend connecting it directly to your computer to ensure the best connectivity and performance. Follow these steps to get connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Plug the power supply in, connect one of the included USB cables from the Clarett to your computer, then power it on. If your computer has a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/insync\/what-thunderbolt-3-usb-c-mean-to-musicians\/\" target=\"_blank\">USB-C connection<\/a>, use the included <strong>USB-C<\/strong> to <strong>C<\/strong> cable; if not, use the included <strong>USB-C<\/strong> to <strong>A<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Navigate to your OS sound settings page and set it as the default input and output device.<ul><li><strong>Windows (PC) users<\/strong>: Right-click the <strong>sound<\/strong> icon on the Windows taskbar, select <strong>Sounds<\/strong>, then click the <strong>Playback<\/strong> tab. Locate and select the Focusrite, click <strong>Set Default<\/strong>, then click OK to close the menu. Follow the same procedure in the <strong>Recording<\/strong> tab.<\/li><li><strong>Mac users:<\/strong> Click the <strong>Apple<\/strong> icon from the Menu Bar and select <strong>System Preferences<\/strong>. Click <strong>Sound<\/strong>, then select the Focusrite under the <strong>Input<\/strong> and <strong>Output<\/strong> tabs.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4>Windows on Arm compatibility<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Focusrite Clarett+ USB-C interfaces are fully compatible with Windows on Arm PCs. Just make sure to install the latest<a href=\"https:\/\/downloads.focusrite.com\/focusrite\/clarett\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Focusrite Control<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You cannot currently use Clarett Thunderbolt interfaces with Windows on Arm PCs, however, as both Thunderbolt and PCIe are not compatible. Follow these steps to pair with an iOS device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Download and install&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/focusrite-control\/id1127384645?mt=8\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Focusrite Control<\/a>&nbsp;from the App Store.<\/li><li>Launch the Focusrite Control app on your computer, then launch the app on your iOS device.<\/li><li>Follow the on-screen instructions to complete pairing. Ensure that both the computer and iOS devices are on the same WiFi network, or else it won\u2019t show up.<\/li><li>Select the computer listed on the iOS app, click&nbsp;<strong>Device Settings<\/strong>&nbsp;on the computer\u2019s application, then click&nbsp;<strong>Approve<\/strong>&nbsp;next to the iOS device listed.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4>Is the interface not showing up?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If the interface, computer, or iOS device isn\u2019t being recognized, it\u2019s more than likely an error with your WiFi settings. After launching Focusrite Control 2 for the first time, you may be prompted to update the firmware.
