In particular, crowed WLAN channels may make it difficult to sustain a remote connection. Here are a few of our best practices that will help keep your X AIR mixer is performing at its best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Always point the built-in antenna straight up, towards the ceiling.<\/li><li>Allow a clear line of sight between the antenna and the remote control devices.<\/li><li>Update the network name <em>(SSID)<\/em> and password <em>(KEY)<\/em> to prevent unauthorized remote control.<\/li><li>Select a WLAN channel with the fewest amount of active Wi-Fi networks. You\u2019ll need a paperclip or something similar to press the reset button located in the small hole to the right of the REMOTE switch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> Power up the X AIR mixer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Using a paperclip, press and hold the reset button for <strong>2 seconds to reset the network settings<\/strong> or <strong>10 seconds to restore the mixer to factory settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> Power off the mixer, <strong>wait 5 seconds<\/strong> and then power it back <strong>on<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Network-connections\"><strong>Network connections<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>View our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/x-air-ethernet-and-external-router-setup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X AIR&nbsp;Ethernet and External Router Setup page<\/a> for more information about remote controlling your mixer without connecting directly to the built-in Wi-Fi Access Point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Behringer-X-Air-Firmware-Update\">Behringer X Air Firmware Update<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From time to time Behringer will provide a free firmware update for your mixer. This will fix bugs, may add new features, and will assure compatibility with the newest versions of the control apps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>On your Mac or Windows PC, connect to your mixer using the <strong>X-AIR Edit app<\/strong>.<\/li><li>In your web browser, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.behringer.com\/en\/products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Behringer website Products page<\/a> and search for your product.<\/li><li>Open the product page, and click <strong>Downloads<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Under &#8220;Firmware,&#8221; locate the newest version of the firmware. Click on it and download it according to the instructions.<\/li><li>In your Downloads folder, expand the .zip file.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Launch the X-AIR Edit app. Click <strong>Setup<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <em>Setup<\/em> window, view the <strong>Connection<\/strong> tab. Click <strong>Update FW<\/strong> and then select the firmware file in your Downloads folder.
