Once you have the S1 set up, follow these steps to set up the unit. Make sure to turn all of the volume knobs down before you power the system on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Turn the device to <strong>Standby<\/strong>, which is the middle position of the <em>Power <\/em>switch.<\/li><li>Connect the power cable, then turn the S1 on.<\/li><li>Connect your sound sources.<ul><li><strong>Instruments<\/strong>: Any instrument can be connected with a \u00bc\u201d or XLR cable to Channel 1 or 2.<\/li><li><strong>Microphones<\/strong>: Any dynamic microphone can be connected with an XLR or \u00bc\u201d cable to Channel 1 or 2.<\/li><li><strong>Aux Sources<\/strong>: Any mobile device or MP3 player will be connected with a 3.5mm cable, which is dedicated to Channel 3.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Are-you-using-multiple-S1-s\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Are you using multiple S1&#8217;s?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re using multiple S1 speakers, connect a TRS cable from the <em>LINE OUT <\/em>of one to the <strong>INPUT <\/strong><em>Channel 1 <\/em>or <em>Channel 2<\/em> of another. Follow these steps to get it up and running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Turn the volume up for any instruments or devices connected to the S1 speaker.<\/li><li>Slowly turn the corresponding S1 volume knob up until reaching the optimum volume.<\/li><li>Adjust the EQ and reverb knobs to fine-tune the sound of your instrument or microphone.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Using-Tonematch\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Using Tonematch<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are using an acoustic guitar or microphone, the Tonematch feature is convenient because it will automatically adjust the sound of your instrument.&nbsp; You may need to make some fine adjustments afterward, however.&nbsp; To do this, move the switch to either guitar or microphone to activate it.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When connecting two S1\u2019s, you will need to disengage both the Tonematch and reverb on the secondary speaker. The same will apply if you connect them to a mixer when using them as standard PA speakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Don-t-clip-the-signal\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Don&#8217;t clip the signal!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If the Signal LED on the channel starts flashing red, that means it is clipping, and you will need to turn it down a little bit. To get the best connections possible, make sure to<a href=\"https:\/\/assets.bose.com\/content\/dam\/Bose_DAM\/Web\/pro\/global\/products\/portable_PA\/S1_Pro\/Downloads\/827507_FW_s1_pro_system_EN_00_viewable.pdf#page=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\"> update your firmware<\/a> beforehand. Follow these steps to pair your device to the S1 successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>On your device, turn on Bluetooth.<\/li><li>Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the S1 for approximately two seconds. The Bluetooth light will flash white once it\u2019s ready to pair.<\/li><li>Select the Bose S1 from the Bluetooth device list.
