The instructions below were generously provided by our friends at Native Instruments.<\/a> This article explains how to configure your audio settings in KONTAKT. This includes selecting\u00a0your audio interface’s driver\u00a0and configuring the\u00a0output routing of loaded KONTAKT Instruments.<\/p>\n

Selecting your Audio Device<\/h2>\n

  1. In KONTAKT’s Main Control Panel, click the Options<\/strong> icon to\u00a0open the Options dialog.

  2. In the Audio<\/strong> Tab of the Options dialog, select your audio interface\u00a0from the Device<\/strong> drop-down menu. We will use the\u00a0Komplete Audio 6<\/strong> driver as an example here:

    Configuring the Instrument’s\u00a0Output Channel<\/h2>\n

    Once the audio interface driver is selected, the loaded KONTAKT Instruments will automatically be routed to your audio interface’s first available stereo\u00a0output.\"\"<\/p>\n

    To route an Instrument\u00a0to another output of\u00a0your audio interface, do the following:<\/p>\n

    1. In KONTAKT’s header bar, click the Workspace<\/strong> icon and tick Outputs<\/strong> to\u00a0show the Outputs section.
      \n\"\"<\/li>\n
    2. Open the Instrument’s\u00a0Output\u00a0drop-down menu and choose the stereo output you want to route the instrument to. If there is no available\u00a0additional stereo output channel, choose Create separate Master Output Channel.

    3. This will create an additional Stereo Output Channel Strip in the Outputs Section of KONTAKT, named after the Instrument routed to this output. This output channel will automatically be routed to the first stereo output of your audio interface.

    4. Open the Channel Output Configuration menu by clicking the button 1|2\u00a0at the bottom of the output channel strip.
      \n\"\"<\/li>\n
    5. In the channel output configuration menu<\/strong>, select the physical outputs of your audio interface that\u00a0you want to route the channel strip’s audio to.
      \n\"\"<\/li>\n
    6. Close the channel output configuration window by clicking Ok. The button 3|4<\/strong>\u00a0at the bottom of the Output Channel strip now\u00a0reflects the changes you made to the audio routing.
