The M-Audio Code series controllers are class-compliant MIDI devices, meaning they do not require a special driver to connect with your Windows or Mac computer. Simply plug it in to a USB port to turn it on and begin. It is recommended to plug directly in to your computer and not through a USB hub.<\/p>\n

*Windows will perform an installation upon plugging in your Code series controller to ensure compatibility with it\u2019s system MIDI drivers.<\/p>\n

Hardware Setup<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Press the\u00a0Edit\u00a0<\/strong>button<\/li>\n
  2. Press and hold the\u00a0Shift\u00a0<\/strong>button<\/li>\n
  3. Press the C# key on the key bed with the label\u00a0MACKIE\/HUI\u00a0<\/strong>above it in grey text so that the display reads \u201cMACKIE\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Software Setup<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Launch Pro Tools<\/li>\n
    2. From the Setup menu, choose Peripherals<\/li>\n
    3. Select the\u00a0MIDI Controllers\u00a0<\/strong>tab<\/li>\n
    4. For\u00a0Type<\/strong>, choose HUI<\/b><\/li>\n
    5. For Receive From and Send To, select\u00a0MIDIIN3<\/strong><\/li>\n
    6. Set the “# Ch’s” to 8<\/li>\n
    7. Click OK to close the Window<\/li>\n
    8. Open the Setup menu again and choose MIDI > Input Devices<\/li>\n
    9. Be sure all boxes related to the Code controller are checked<\/li>\n
