IMPORTANT:\u00a0<\/strong>The SLCS18AI control surface and the AI Consoles each use different firmware files. Loading the wrong files could cause the mixer to function improperly and can potentially damage the unit. We strongly urge you to format your USB flash drive to FAT32 before performing the steps below to ensure there is nothing leftover before beginning the process.<\/em><\/p>\n

  1. Download the firmware files for your SLCS18AI from your MyPreSonus account. You can find them by clicking “See Details” on your SLCS18AI registration and clicking the “Firmware” tab.<\/li>\n
  2. Open your downloads folder and locate the firmware folder.<\/li>\n
  3. If your browser did not automatically unzip the folder, you will need to do so. On Mac, you can simply double-click to unzip. On Windows, right-click and choose “Extract all.”<\/li>\n
  4. Once the folder is unzipped, open it to find 5 files inside.\n

    • Initvars.scr<\/li>\n
    • Recovery.scr<\/li>\n
    • Rootfs.img<\/li>\n
    • uImage<\/li>\n
    • upgrade.bin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Connect your FAT32-formatted USB drive into your computer and copy the 5 files listed above to the\u00a0root directory,\u00a0<\/strong>meaning the files are on the top level of the drive.<\/li>\n
    • Eject the USB drive, then connect it to the rear slot of your SLCS18AI controller, and power it on.<\/li>\n
    • Press the\u00a0Home\u00a0<\/strong>button in the Master Control section of the control surface.<\/li>\n
    • From the Home screen, select\u00a0System<\/strong>, then select\u00a0Firmware<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • On the Firmware Update screen, you’ll see two sections, one for the CS18AI and one for an RM mixer. If there is no RM mixer connected, the slot will be empty.<\/li>\n
    • Select\u00a0Check for update\u00a0<\/strong>in the CS18AI section. The update process will take about a minute to complete. When finished, you will be prompted to power-cycle the controller.<\/li>\n
    • Power off, then power on the CS18AI.
