Most Artist Transport users will never have to set a static Internet Protocol (IP) address but in the rare cases that require it, follow
\nthe instructions in this section.<\/p>\n

Normally Artist Transport uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to obtain its IP address, typically from a router. Artist Transport reverts to link-local addressing to generate an IP address if a DHCP server is not found on the network, such as when Artist Transport is connected directly to a computer with an Ethernet cable. Both of these methods of obtaining IP addresses can be overridden by supplying a static IP address, which Artist Transport will then use in all cases when powered on.<\/p>\n

To set a static IP address:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. While holding down the left-most two Soft Keys simultaneously, press and release the\u00a0POWER<\/strong>\u00a0switch. Continue to hold the Soft Keys down until the display lights.<\/li>\n
  2. Turn the Jog Wheel clockwise to change the underlined value from yes (default) to no. The + and \u2013 keys on the Numeric Keypad can be used instead of the Jog Wheel to decrease or increase the value, respectively.<\/li>\n
  3. Press the\u00a0ENTER<\/strong>\u00a0key to move the cursor to the next screen, in this case the first field of the IP Address screen.<\/li>\n
  4. Press the\u00a0ENTER<\/strong>\u00a0key to cycle the cursor back to a previous field or screen to change a parameter to a different value.<\/li>\n
  5. Use the Jog Wheel to set the first field of the IP Address. Alternately, press the + or \u2013 keys on the Numeric Keypad to increment or decrement the value, respectively. You can also enter the number directly using the Numeric Keypad.<\/li>\n
  6. Press the\u00a0ENTER<\/strong>\u00a0key to move the cursor to the second field.<\/li>\n
  7. Rotate the Jog Wheel to set the second field of the IP address.<\/li>\n
  8. Set the remaining IP Address fields.<\/li>\n
  9. After setting the last IP Address field, press the\u00a0ENTER<\/strong>\u00a0key to move the cursor to the first field of the Subnet Mask screen.<\/li>\n
  10. Set the Subnet Mask using the same techniques described in the previous steps.<\/li>\n
  11. Press the two left-most Soft Keys simultaneously to save this static IP address. Power Artist Transport off and on to use the new IP address.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
