Most Artist Mix users will never have to set a static Internet Protocol (IP) address but in the rare cases that require it, Artist Mix does allow for it.<\/p>\n

Normally Artist Mix uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to obtain its IP address, typically from a router. Artist Mix reverts to link-local addressing to generate an IP address if a DHCP server is not found on the network, such as when an Artist Mix is connected directly to a computer with an Ethernet cable. Both of these methods of obtaining IP addresses can be overridden by supplying a static IP address, which Artist Mix uses in all cases when powered on.<\/p>\n

To set a static IP address:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. While holding down the\u00a0<PAGE><\/strong>\u00a0keys simultaneously, press and release the\u00a0POWER<\/strong>\u00a0switch. Continue to hold the\u00a0<PAGE><\/strong>\u00a0keys down until the display lights.<\/li>\n
  2. Turn the left-most\u00a0PAN<\/strong>\u00a0knob to set Use DHCP to No.<\/li>\n
  3. Use the\u00a0<PAGE><\/strong>\u00a0keys to move to the next screen. Press the\u00a0<PAGE<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0PAGE><\/strong>\u00a0keys to cycle the cursor back to a previous field or screen to change a parameter to a different value. To change the value for the Subnet Mask or IP Address, place the cursor under the current value and turn the left-most\u00a0PAN<\/strong>\u00a0knob.<\/li>\n
  4. Press\u00a0<PAGE<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0PAGE><\/strong>\u00a0to scroll through the fields of the IP Address.<\/li>\n
  5. Turn the left-most\u00a0PAN<\/strong>\u00a0knob to set the second field of the IP address.<\/li>\n
  6. Repeat the previous steps to set the remaining IP Address fields.<\/li>\n
  7. After setting the last IP Address field, press the\u00a0<PAGE><\/strong>\u00a0keys to move the cursor to the first field of the Subnet Mask screen.<\/li>\n
  8. Use the techniques described to set the Subnet Mask.<\/li>\n
  9. Press the\u00a0<PAGE><\/strong>\u00a0keys simultaneously to save this static IP address. Power the Artist Mix off and on to use the new IP address.
