Most Artist Control users will never have to set a static Internet Protocol (IP) address but in the rare cases that require it, use the instructions in this section.<\/p>\n

Normally Artist Control uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to obtain its IP address, typically from a router. Artist Control reverts to link-local addressing to generate an IP address if a DHCP server is not found on the network, such as when an Artist Control is connected directly to a computer with an Ethernet cable. Both of these methods of obtaining IP addresses can be overridden by supplying a static IP address, which Artist Control uses in all cases when powered on.<\/p>\n

To set a static IP address:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. With both <PAGE>\u00a0<\/strong>keys held down, press and release the\u00a0POWER<\/strong>\u00a0button. Keep both <PAGE><\/strong> buttons held down during boot up. The Network Setup screen appears on the Touchscreen.<\/li>\n
  2. Touch the parameter labeled Use DHCP (Obtain IP Address automatically). This deselects the parameter and displays the IP Addressand Subnet Mask fields on the Touchscreen.<\/li>\n
  3. Touch the first box of the IP Address field. Adjust its value by turning any of the eight knobs or the Jog Wheel.<\/li>\n
  4. Use this technique to adjust all values of the IP Address and the Subnet Mask fields. Touch the Cancel button to cancel changes made to the IP address at any time.<\/li>\n
  5. Touch the OK button to save this static IP address.<\/li>\n
  6.
