UPDATE 2\/27\/2014: Apple released Mac OSX 10.9.2 which allows Sibelius to run normally. After updating your OS, you should no longer have this issue.<\/p>\n

From Avid:<\/p>\n

On some computers, Sibelius 7 and Sibelius 7 First can feel sluggish to use on Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks. We\u2019re working actively with Apple for a fix to this issue for the near future.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, you can use this simple workaround:<\/p>\n

Note: These steps are only necessary when you first open Sibelius; you do not need to send your computer to sleep each time you open a score.<\/em><\/p>\n

  1. Start Sibelius<\/li>\n
  2. Click Apple > Sleep<\/li>\n
  3. Wake your Mac<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
