If you’ve recently purchased a Monster Digital solid state drive and are noticing your tracking\/playback indicator in your DAW doing some funky hiccuping, don’t worry. We’ve tested these out and can assure you that your audio is being processed perfectly fine.<\/p>\n
The reason this happens is because your DAW is expecting the hard drive to write data at a constant rate like disk drives do. A solid state drive writes data at super high speeds across each memory cell with a momentary pause when switching memory cells. When the SSD makes the jump to the next cell, the DAW may “hiccup.” This is only a visual thing and depends on how many tracks you are recording and at what sample rate\/resolution.
