Follow the sections below to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Zoom H6 audio interface setup\u2028 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"#Zoom-H6-audio-interface-setup\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Zoom H6 audio interface setup<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#H6-audio-interface-settings\"><strong>H6 audio interface settings<\/strong><\/a><ul><li><a href=\"#Direct-monitoring\"><strong>Direct monitoring<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Loopback\">Loopback<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Mixing-the-inputs\">Mixing the inputs<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Zoom-H6-audio-interface-setup\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Zoom H6 audio interface setup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Zoom H6 is a powerful recorder that can be used as an&nbsp;audio interface with your computer or iPad.&nbsp;Read below to set up your H6. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li> Press the <strong>Menu <\/strong>button located on the side of the device. <\/li><li> Use the scroll switch to select <strong>USB <\/strong>and then press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>. <\/li><li> Use the scroll switch&nbsp;to select <strong>Audio Interface<\/strong>&nbsp;and then press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>. <\/li><li> Again, use the scroll switch to select <strong>Stereo Mix<\/strong> or <strong>Multi Track<\/strong> and then press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>. <\/li><li> Use the scroll switch to select <strong>PC\/Mac<\/strong>&nbsp;to power the H6 via USB, <strong>PC\/Mac using battery power<\/strong>&nbsp;to run the H6 off the batteries, or <strong>iPad using battery power<\/strong>&nbsp;to connect to an iPad and run the H6 off the batteries.<ul><li><strong>Note<\/strong>: If your computer does not supply enough power to the H6 through USB while using phantom power, select &#8220;PC\/Mac using battery power.&#8221;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li> Connect the H6 to your computer or iPad using a USB cable. <ul><li><strong>When connecting to an iPad, you must use the iPad Camera Connection Kit.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Input-and-outputs\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Input and outputs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the H6 is set to Stereo Mix, it will act as a 2 in\/2 out interface, meaning you have 2 inputs and 2 outputs. When it&#8217;s set to Multi Track, the H6 will act as a 6 in\/2 out interface, meaning you get 6 inputs and 2 outputs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are trying to use the Multi Track mode with Windows, you will need to install the driver for it from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zoom.co.jp\/downloads\/h6\/software\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Zoom website (opens in a new tab)\">Zoom website<\/a>. If you are connecting to an iPad, only Stereo Mix mode will work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Disconnecting-the-Zoom-H6-from-your-computer\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Disconnecting the Zoom H6 from your computer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you are ready to disconnect the H6, press the <strong>Menu<\/strong> button. Use the scroll switch to select <strong>Exit<\/strong>, press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>, then select <strong>Yes<\/strong> in the next screen and press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>. You can then disconnect the cable from the computer or iPad and the H6, then press the <strong>Menu<\/strong> button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"H6-audio-interface-settings\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">H6 audio interface settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a few settings you can tweak on the H6 when using it as an audio interface. These include direct monitoring, loopback functionality, and also mixing the inputs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Direct-monitoring\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Direct monitoring<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Audio that is input into the H6 can be monitored directly before it goes to your computer or iPad so that you get monitoring without latency. Here&#8217;s how to set this up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press the <strong>M<\/strong><strong>enu<\/strong>&nbsp;button.<\/li><li>Use the scroll switch to select <strong>Input &amp; Output<\/strong>&nbsp;and press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Use the scroll switch to select <strong>Direct Monitor<\/strong>, then press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>.<\/li><li>On the next screen, use the scroll switch to select <strong>On<\/strong>, then press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Loopback\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Loopback<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This mode allows you to take audio coming from your computer or iPad and mix it with the incoming audio from the H6. It is then routed back into the computer or iPad to be recorded or broadcasted to a live stream on the internet, etc. This is especially useful if you are trying to add narration to something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press the <strong>M<\/strong><strong>enu <\/strong>button.<\/li><li>Use the scroll switch to select <strong>Input &amp; Output <\/strong>and press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Use the scroll switch to select <strong>Loop Back<\/strong>&nbsp;and press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>.<\/li><li>On the next screen, use the scroll switch to select <strong>On<\/strong>, then press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"Mixing-the-inputs\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader darkBlueHeader alignLeft underline customh3 swheader\">Mixing the inputs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can adjust the mix of the inputs from the H6. This mix will then be sent to the computer or iPad. If you are in <strong>Stereo Mix <\/strong>mode, the mix will be sent to the computer or iPad on a summed stereo track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press the <strong>M<\/strong><strong>enu <\/strong>button.<\/li><li>Use the scroll switch to select <strong>Input &amp; Output <\/strong>and press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Use the scroll switch to select <strong>Mixer<\/strong>&nbsp;and press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Change the parameter settings as desired. You can do this by using the scroll switch to move the cursor over which parameter you want to change. To change it, press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong>, then move the scroll switch up or down to change the parameter. To exit the parameter and return to the cursor, press the <strong>scroll switch<\/strong> again.<\/li><li>You can press the <strong>R<\/strong><strong>ecord <\/strong>button to listen to the project without the mixer adjustments.
