If your current firmware version is out-of-date, you will need to download the latest version to a USB stick and transfer it to the X32.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Press Setup and go to the Global tab.<\/li><li>Check the firmware version number.<\/li><li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.behringer.com\/en\/products\/behringer-x32-0603-ace\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Behringer X32 product page<\/a>. Click <strong>Downloads<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Look for the newest version of the Firmware.<\/li><li>Compare your version number to the latest available from Behringer.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat s blue\">Return to top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Update-the-X32-firmware\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Update the X32 firmware<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before updating the firmware on the X32, make sure the USB thumb drive is formatted as FAT32. Formatting will erase all contents stored on the drive. Be sure that you back up any data on your drive before formatting. Follow the instructions below to perform the firmware update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.behringer.com\/en\/products\/0603-ACE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Behringer X32 product page<\/a>. Click <strong>Downloads<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Locate the latest version of the firmware and download it.<\/li><li>Go to your <strong>Downloads<\/strong> folder and double-click the X32 firmware folder.<ul><li><strong>PC:<\/strong> Right-click the <em>.zip<\/em> file, select <strong>Extract all\u2026<\/strong>, and then click <strong>Extract<\/strong>. Open the new folder to locate the <em>.update<\/em> file.<\/li><li><strong>Mac:<\/strong> Double-click the <em>.zip<\/em> file to decompress it. Open the new folder to locate the <em>.update<\/em> file.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Copy the firmware file to a root directory USB stick.<\/li><li>Insert the USB thumb drive, then on the X32, press <strong>Setup<\/strong>, press the <strong>Global<\/strong> tab, and select <strong>Update FW<\/strong>. <ul><li>If you&#8217;re having issues, you can also force the update by inserting the USB thumb drive, then holding down the <strong>View<\/strong> button in the <em>USB Recorder<\/em> section while powering on the mixer.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><a href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"button flat s blue\">Return to top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Firmware-update-FAQ\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Firmware update FAQ<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are a few tips and tricks we\u2019ve found to make the firmware update on an X32 go as smooth as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"Flash-drives-and-X32-firmware\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft underline customh4 swheader\">Flash drives and X32 firmware<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Before using a USB thumb drive with an X32, format it as FAT32. If you\u2019re not sure how to format the external drive, learn more about formatting on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/how-to-format-an-external-hard-drive-on-windows-10\/\" target=\"_blank\">PC<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/how-to-format-external-hard-drives-on-macos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Mac<\/a>.<\/li><li>Firmware updates will erase all board settings saved on the X32. This includes routing, scenes, snippets, and other presets.
