When setting up Pro Tools, you need to be sure that the drivers are installed, Playback Engine is assigned and I\/O Settings are reset. Read below to synchronize your interface with Pro Tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><a href=\"#Reinstall-Audio-Device-Drivers\"><strong>Reinstall Audio Device Drivers<\/strong><\/a><ul><li><strong><a href=\"#View-Connected-Devices-on-macOS\">View Connected Devices on macOS<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#View-Connected-Devices-on-Windows\">View Connected Devices on Windows<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><a href=\"#Pro-Tools-Playback-Engine-Settings\"><strong>Pro Tools Playback Settings<\/strong><\/a><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"#Pro-Tools-IO-Setup-Settings\">Pro Tools I\/O Setup Settings<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"Reinstall-Audio-Device-Drivers\" class=\"wp-block-cgb-block-customheader blackHeader alignLeft noUnderline customh2 swheader\">Reinstall Audio Device Drivers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re having trouble getting your audio interface to work with your Pro Tools setup, the first thing to do is make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest drivers for your audio interface. These can be downloaded at the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/where-can-i-download-the-driver-for-my-interface\/\" target=\"_blank\">manufacturer&#8217;s website<\/a> for&nbsp;whichever interface you may be using. Once done, restart your computer and see if the device is detected in <em>Device Manager<\/em> (PC) or <em>System Information<\/em> (Mac). If your device is not detected, first&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/where-can-i-download-the-driver-for-my-interface\/\" target=\"_blank\">download and install the driver which the manufacturer&nbsp;recommends<\/a>&nbsp;is best&nbsp;compatible with your computer. The <strong>Playback Engine<\/strong> can be found in the Pro Tools <strong>Setup<\/strong>&nbsp;menu. The&nbsp;<strong>I\/O Setup<\/strong> window is found under the <strong>Setup menu. If you&#8217;re not sure what to do here, pressing Default <\/strong>for&nbsp;the <strong>Input, Output, and Bus<\/strong> <strong>tabs<\/strong> is a great place to start.
