Set the output routing<\/b>\u00a0(see p.61):<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Go to the\u00a0Routing>Output Slot<\/b>\u00a0screen by holding the\u00a0Alt<\/b>\u00a0button and pressing the\u00a0Routing<\/b>\u00a0button.\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Use\u00a0Pod 3<\/b>\u00a0knob to select\u00a0Slot 1 1-8<\/b>, and use\u00a0Pod 4<\/b>\u00a0to set\u00a0Source Select<\/b>\u00a0to\u00a0Buss\/Direct<\/b>.\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. Set\u00a0Outs 1-8\u00a0<\/b>to\u00a0Buss\/Direct 1-8<\/b>\u00a0accordingly using the\u00a0arrow keys<\/b>,\u00a0data wheel<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0enter button<\/b>.\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n
  4. Do that same thing for\u00a09-16<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a017-24<\/b>.\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a>\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Set at least two inputs to monitor Slot 1 returns<\/b>\u00a0(see p.59):<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Go to\u00a0Routing>Input<\/b>\u00a0by pressing the\u00a0tab button<\/b>\u00a0below the Input tab at the bottom of the screen.<\/li>\n
    2. On the DM4800, it\u2019s suggested to start with FW\/Slot returns at channel 25 and up so you don’t waste any of your analog input channels.<\/li>\n
    3. Use the\u00a0Pod 3<\/b>\u00a0knob to set\u00a0Layer Select<\/b>\u00a0to\u00a0Ch.17-32<\/b>.<\/li>\n
    4. Use the\u00a0Pod 4\u00a0<\/b>knob to set\u00a0Source Select<\/b>\u00a0to\u00a0Slot 1<\/b>.<\/li>\n
    5. Use the\u00a0arrow keys<\/b>,\u00a0data wheel<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0enter button<\/b>\u00a0to set\u00a0INP Ch25<\/b>\u00a0to\u00a0Slot 1-1<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0INP Ch26<\/b>\u00a0to\u00a0Slot 1-2<\/b>.\u00a0(If you want to monitor more than just two channels through the board, for instance to mix in the board rather than mixing in software, you could set up additional inputs on the board to mix additional outputs from Logic.)\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a>\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Route your input channels to the Direct outputs<\/b>\u00a0(see p.63):<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. To the right of the Stereo fader on the board press the\u00a0Layer Status<\/b>\u00a0button for\u00a0Ch.1-24<\/b>.\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n
      2. Press the\u00a0SEL<\/b>\u00a0button above your input channel on the board to select that channel.\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n
      3. On the left side of the board, press the\u00a0Direct<\/b>\u00a0button in the\u00a0Output Assign<\/b>\u00a0section, and disable any other assignments in that area (only Direct should be lit up).\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Route the Slot return channels to the Stereo output\u00a0<\/b>(see p.63):<\/p>\n

          \n
            \n
          1. To the right of the Stereo fader on the board press the\u00a0Layer Status<\/b>\u00a0button for\u00a0Ch.25-48<\/b>.\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n
          2. Press the\u00a0SEL<\/b>\u00a0button above\u00a0Ch.25<\/b>.<\/li>\n
          3. On the left side of the board, press the\u00a0Stereo<\/b>\u00a0button in the\u00a0Output Assign<\/b>\u00a0section, and disable any other assignments in that area (only Stereo should be lit up).\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n
          4. Turn the fader on that channel up to\u00a00db<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0pan it left<\/b>.<\/li>\n
          5. Do the same things for\u00a0Ch.26<\/b>, but\u00a0pan it right<\/b>\u00a0(if you\u2019re mixing in the board, the levels, panning, and effects on the Slot return channels will be your mix).\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n

            In Logic, go to the Logic menu>Preferences>Audio <\/b>and set the Input Device <\/b>and Output Device<\/b> to the Tascam FW card<\/b>.<\/p>\n

            On the output of the tracks, set those to the first pair of output choices. Those should show up on Slot 1 ch 1-2, which we set to show up on Ch.25-26 on the board.<\/p>\n

            If you\u2019d like to do transport and fader control of Logic from the DM3200, here\u2019s a summary of the Macie Control Emulation for Logic:<\/p>\n

            The DM4800 needs to be connected via USB<\/b> to the computer.<\/p>\n

            On the DM4800<\/b>:<\/p>\n

              \n
            1. Go to Remote>Ext.CTRL<\/b> by holding the Alt<\/b> button and pressing the Remote<\/b> button then using the tab select <\/b>buttons to navigate to the Ext.CTRL tab<\/b>.\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n
            2. Add a 24 MC for Logic<\/b> by using POD 4<\/b> to select 24 MC for Logic<\/b> and pressing the Enter <\/b>button.\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n
            3. Go to Remote>Machine.CTRL<\/b> by pressing the tab button<\/b> below the Machine CTRL<\/b> tab.<\/li>\n
            4. Select M MC for Logic<\/b> using POD 4<\/b>. Using the arrow keys, make sure the Arrow <\/b>cursor is next to the ADD<\/b> button, then press Enter<\/b>. Then, using the arrow keys, move the cursor next to the TRA option<\/b> and press the Enter<\/b> button to enable TRA<\/b>.\u00a0\"DM4800<\/a>\"DM4800<\/a>\"DM4800<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              In Logic<\/b>:<\/p>\n

                \n
              1. Go to the Logic menu>Preferences>Control Surfaces>Setup<\/b>.<\/li>\n
              2. Add a Mackie Control <\/b>and set it\u2019s MIDI IO <\/b>ports to Port 5<\/b> (or Control Port 1<\/b>) of the DM4800.<\/li>\n
              3. Add a Mackie Control Extender<\/b> and set it\u2019s MIDI IO<\/b> ports to Port 6<\/b> (or Control port 2<\/b>) of the DM4800.<\/li>\n
              4. Add a Mackie Control Extender<\/b> and set it\u2019s MIDI IO<\/b> ports to Port 7<\/b> (or Control port 3<\/b>) of the DM4800.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                The transport on the DM4800 should work all the time.
