To do this, you need two FireWire CueMix capable devices, such as two 828mk2s, two 896HDs, or one of each. This procedure also applies to monitoring a FireWire and a PCI-424 based interface together through one stereo pair. <\/p>\n<p>For this example, we&#8217;ll assume an 896HD and an 828mk2, and that you will be monitoring from the 828mk2: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect any output pair on the 896HD to an input pair on the 828mk2. We&#8217;ll say Analog 7-8 Out on 896HD into Analog 7-8 In on 828mk2. <\/li>\n<li>In the FireWire CueMix Console for 896HD, set up a mix of your inputs and set the output of the bus to be Analog 7-8. For the CueMix Console for the 828mk2, set the faders for Analog 7-8 to 0 dB and pan them hard left and hard right.
