Pro Tools is likely telling you it does not have access to modify\/add\/delete the file due to Windows restrictions. The most likely cause would be if you had brought this session back to your hard drive from a CD-ROM backup. In this case, copying files from CD will copy the read-only attribute to all files and folders (because when Windows first came out, there was no possibility of writing to a CD), and the files are therefore marked as read-only. To fix this, go to your Windows Explorer or My Computer (your choice), find the folder you brought back from CD, and select all with CTRL-A. Then, right-click on one of the files and go to Properties. You will see a Read-Only box which is checked or grey-checked. Uncheck this, hit OK, and it will ask if you want to Apply Changes to This Folder Only or Apply Changes to This Folder, Subfolders, and Files. Choose the second option (all files and folders) and hit OK.
