This information applies to Toast 4.x Deluxe & Toast 5.x Titanium on Mac OS 8.6, OS 9.X and OS 10.X<\/p>\n
A CD Extra disc contains two sessions – the first session contains audio and the second contains data. Because audio CD players only read the first session on a CD, a CD Extra formatted disc should appear as a standard audio CD to an audio CD player. The same CD, however, can be used as both an audio and a data disc in a computer since the computer can see both sessions. To make a CD Extra disc follow these steps:<\/p>\n
1. Collect the audio files you want to include on the CD<\/p>\n
2. Launch Toast and select “”Audio CD”” from the “”Format”” menu<\/p>\n
3. In the main Toast window click the “”Audio”” button – this should bring up the “”Audio Tracks”” dialog window<\/p>\n
4. Drag your audio files into “”Audio Tracks”” dialog window<\/p>\n
5. Click “”Done”” when you’ve added all of the tracks you want in the audio session of the CD<\/p>\n
6. In the main Toast window click “”Write CD””<\/p>\n
7. In the next dialog window click “”Write Session”” <\/p>\n
Please Note: It’s important that you do NOT select “”Write Disc”” since the disc will be write protected if you do and therefore you won’t be able to add the data session)<\/p>\n
8. After Toast has written the audio session, collect the data you wish to add to the CD<\/p>\n
9. Select the data format you want to use for the data session (this can be “”Mac Files and Folders,”” “”Mac Volume,”” “”ISO-9660,”” or “”Mac \/ ISO Hybrid””) and add the data to the data layout<\/p>\n
10. In the main Toast window click “”Write CD””<\/p>\n
