The USB3 does not provide phantom power, so if you need to use condenser microphones, you will need to use an outboard pre-amp, and then come into the Line Inputs (L&#8217;r) on the back of the USB3.<br \/>Aardvark also makes PCI card based audio interfaces, some of which use the XLR mic input and have Phantom power.
